Publisher's Summary

A full-length, stand-alone romantic comedy from USA Today best-selling author R.S. Grey.

Dr. Russell has a bad reputation around our hospital. The scrub techs say he’s cold-blooded, the nurses say he’s too cocky for his own good, and the residents say he’s the best surgeon in the world - really, just a swell guy! - on the off chance he’s within earshot.

I try to avoid him and his temper at all costs. It’s just as easy to admire his sexy, grip-it-while-he’s-ravishing-you hair and chiseled jaw from a healthy distance, preferably from the other end of the hallway...half hidden behind a plant.

Unfortunately, my plan crumbles when my trusty ol’ boss decides to swap his white coat for a Hawaiian shirt. His retirement leaves me with two terrible options: Switch specialties and spend months retraining or take an open position as Dr. Russell’s surgical assistant.

That means I have to stand near him in the OR for hours on end and anticipate his every need without letting his biting words and bad attitude intimidate me. Oh, and as if that’s not difficult enough, my silly crush on him - the one I’ve tried to stomp on until it disappears - might just be reciprocated.

It’s fine. I’m fine.

I take my job seriously. There will be no smoldering bedroom eyes across the operating table, no angry almost-kisses in the supply closet. (Well, no more of those.) What’s the phrase? An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Maybe I should go for a whole damn bushel.

I pulled an all-nighter to finish this book!

I started this audible book and just could not stop listening. I had to know what was next then next. The characters were imaginable and relatable. The content hit closer to home than I want to admit! Start to finish the allure and intensity of Matt and Bailey did not disappoint!

Read worthy

This book is really awesome. I love the doctor/assistant romance theme. It really appeals to me to re-read it. I listened to it through audiobook and loved it. Definitely worth reading or listening to.

Love

RS Grey has proven to be one of my go-to authors. I love every single book. Perfect blend of humor, substance and butterflies in the stomach. The narrators were excellent as well... delivering the lines perfectly. If you like romance comedy, you will love this.

Thoroughly Enjoyable!

This book caught me off guard. For me it was new writer and new narrators. I loved this story of Matt and Bailey. I loved their journey and how it ended. It took me a while to ease into Aubrey Vincent’s narration, but I found Lee Samuels’ to be smooth and sexy. I may go look for another book with his voice telling the story. Meanwhile, this book is totally worth the credit!

great beginning...

I loved the beginning of this book. it was so funny and promised an entertaining listen. Although the entire book was 'good' and the narration was very good, about half way through, it just became very mediocre. it was a good storyline buf just fizzled to boring for me.

Light, Flirty and Super Enjoyable

This book was so refreshing and a great read! I don’t know why I don’t read more of R.S Grey, but I certainly will now! Hotshot doc was a breath of fresh air and I loved her use of dialogue and banter. It was so well balanced, not the typical story arc that has to have the dramatic crash and burn...it has drama but I didn’t feel annoyed by it. Maybe because I loved the girls characters and there was never really any “bad”’ guy, but I was never rolling my eyes with the super predictable plot climb, twist, dump and recover. I am even a spine fusion patient...two times over in three levels! So I found it really incredible how accurate the science and technical writing was! It just left me in a good mood every time I listened. I really loved this book! Can’t wait to try another of hers!

Wonderful

This is a fantastic romantic comedy. I laughed a lot, especially at Bailey's internal dialogue- she was really funny. She has the chance to assist the hotshot doc, Matt, who is an amazing pediatric spinal surgeon but perhaps not the nicest person (who has scared away multiple assistants recently). From the beginning, sparks fly and I love Bailey's will and wit. She is always ready with a comeback and watching them fall in love was so much fun.

I read the book once it was released (I read this author's books immediately, usually) and just had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook. I really liked Aubrey Vincent's rendition because she has an energetic style that perfectly fit how I would think that Bailey is. Lee Samuels was also great- a beautifully deep voice but well modulated for his other characters. The audiobook was well worth the reread (and in the future, a relisten!)

Sweet romance

Your very own Dr McDreamy and Meredith Grey but a surgeons assistant but would have been Dr if her parents hadn’t died and left her to raise her sister. This is a sweet romance I enjoyed it

The best!

Everything about this book was so thoroughly enjoyable. Aubrey is hilarious as a narrator and Lee is brilliant and totally believable. There are real laugh out loud moments, the storyline is fantastic- I was only sad to see it end. Now off to see what other books there are by RS Grey narrated by these two lovelies.

Meh Book

Not the best book/storyline I've listened to. The female character was overly annoying and trying to be funny.
