I liked the fact that all the footballing knowledge was provided in such a manner that even an amateur could grasp it in its entirety.

The use of personal anecdotes makes it easier to visualise the scenarios thus making it that much more intriguing.

How to Watch Football doesn’t really teach you how to watch football. The first half is mostly Ruud Gullit talking about his own football career, with plenty of reminders about how good he was (and to be fair, he was pretty great). It feels more like a memoir than a guide.

The second half is a mix of opinions on players, teams, and coaches—some interesting, some pretty surface-level. There are a few nuggets of insight, but if you're expecting tactical breakdowns or a structured way to better understand the game, this isn't it.

Very disappointing.

It's Clickbait
