Publisher's Summary

Princess Jehosheba wants nothing more than to please the harsh and demanding Queen Athaliah, daughter of the notorious Queen Jezebel. Her work as a priestess in the temple of Baal seems to do the trick. But when a mysterious letter from the dead prophet Elijah predicts doom for the royal household, Jehosheba realizes that the dark arts she practices reach beyond the realm of earthly governments. To further Athaliah and Jezebel's strategies, she is forced to marry Yahweh's high priest and enters the unfamiliar world of Yahweh's temple. Can her new husband show her the truth and love she craves? And can Jehosheba overcome her fear and save the family - and the nation - she loves?

With deft skill, Mesu Andrews brings Old Testament passages to life, revealing a fascinating story of the power of unconditional love.

Good story, technical difficulties with recording during playback

The story was very engaging but the last few chapters kept running into technical issues and didn’t want to play smoothly. Very frustrating when you’re listening to a book. Otherwise I highly recommend.

great read as usual

I love the way the author pulls a story out of versus I've overlooked all my life.

I love Mesu Andrews books!!

She makes the Bible account come to life in such a way that I can get my own spiritual growth application. I may have read these Bible chapters numerous times and can not see an application for me in my day but Mesu points it out.

Wonderfully written and narrated!

This story brought color and detail to this biblical story. One of my favorite audible books. The narration was amazing.

Lost in the story

This is another great book from Mesu Andrews. The love stories and tender mercy and forgiveness from God are so applicable and relevant for today. So much history and gems.

My only question is WHY she didn’t help her sister in law escape BEFORE she went to the queen to tell her the bad news. I don’t to spoil the story line but this one item drove me crazy.

Liked this, however...

I have listened to most of Mesu Andrews’ audiobooks , and of course the characters are always very intriguing and is what draws me into the story. I wanted to hear more about Jezebel and her schemes and General Jesu and his wildness over cleaning up the country. I know it’s just a story in between lines of the Bible, it would have been more listening friendly to hear about them and less about war. And I must have missed the part about Anna(the priests 1st wife) what in the world happened to her???

Entire book is a battle, not uplifting.

One cruelty after another, one battle after another, with very little uplifting encouragement. So disappointed after two other books by this author seemed much more focused on grace and forgiveness and love. I kept having to fast-forward through this book.
