About this listen

Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College–Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky.

Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

Although Violet’s body might be weaker and frailer than everyone else’s, she still has her wits–and a will of iron. And leadership is forgetting the most important lesson Basgiath has taught her: Dragon riders make their own rules.

But a determination to survive won’t be enough this year.

Because Violet knows the real secret hidden for centuries at Basgiath War College–and nothing, not even dragon fire, may be enough to save them in the end.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

I wasn't expecting "Iron Flame" to surpass "Fourth Wing," but I was pleasantly surprised by how good this book was. Xaden continues to grow and improve as the story progresses, and the voice actor is just perfect for the role. The entire cast of voice actors who performed in this audiobook was phenomenal. I found myself on the edge of my seat during every action scene. I can't believe it wasn't an actual movie, but rather an audiobook. Graphic Audio's motto, "movie in your mind," really holds true.

It keeps getting better!

Iron Flame is the action packed sequel to Fourth Wing. This one going into the life of Violet as she navigates the new dangers at Basgiath, adjusts to the allowances made for her dragon's mating bond and learning the art of selective truths.

As a spoiler free review, all I can put down is that this series has me hooked. Is it because of the dragons, the flaming passion or just the fact that I love a good fantasy survival tale with a strong female lead? I'm not sure, but I know I love it.

The cliffhangers at the end are the only parts I do not love, as it makes it hard to wait for the next book in the series.

Graphical audio books were new to me last year, but now movies need to take cues from these things. On-screen adaptations should make a note of this - use AI to build your sets, but use the right sound effects and actors to show exactly what we hear in these versions.

Dragons do not bow to the whims of man

What can I say, it keeps on getting better than the last one. I hope everyone in the squad lives

GODS!

chapter 5 - the infantry captain is a female but you have changed the gender and we have a male in her place 🙄 these things should be done carefully. it takes away from the experience of listening to the audio book. and please stop editing out parts of the description and conversations. there's a reason why the descriptions are so detailed, so that we can imagine things in our mind how things are but you have removed so much of these that it seems like the book isn't written properly. please don't make these mistakes in your next production

careless oversight
