Really interesting intro to git health

I loved the whole series. It was so refreshing not having to listen to an author who is so blinded by his or her beliefs about health and nutrition or trying to sell you the latest fad. The lads arm you with some facts and let you make up your mind based on the latest science.

Over the years i have listened to audiobooks making the arguments from all sides. Meat is bad, cut out dairy, avoid grains, juice, don’t juice... haha, i’d be as well sewing up my mouth and be done with it. What I have gained though is knowledge from all these camps and somehow managed to keep an open mind that they are all right to some degree, just blinded by their passion and tunnel vision... and in a few cases greed.

My passion and reason for listening to all these books is that I am completely amazed by the human body. My knowledge of how it ‘really’ works grows with every book I read or listen too. I’ve been healthy all my life, never spent a day in a hospital but last year was diagnosed with Psoriasis which has progressed to being severe. It covers my entire body and apart from being so time consuming to manage, has many health and psychological impacts. This has led me to studying the gut and the microbiome. My life from here on is looking forward to treating the symptoms of Psoriasis without ever tackling the source. With all this knowledge i’ve gained (haha, i’m no expert of course) i’m convinced it lies in the gut and that’s where i’ll continue to focus.

So as the title suggests, if you want to learn about gut health, this is the perfect place to start. Lots of ideas and knowledge condensed into short bursts and delivered in a friendly and entertaining manner.

Well done boys, hope you continue the series.

An interesting introduction to gut health that covers a variety of topics. Would have loved to have found out if Tim’s diet changes affected his gut bacteria...series 2 perhaps?

Very basic

If you haven’t read or listened to anything about the gut and you don’t know what a microbiome is this is a good accessible introduction to the subject that covers the topic and its main points. I learnt nothing from the program, however, that I didn’t already know and I found the attempts to make the material accessible a bit patronising in tone and irritating.

Aural Agony

I'm sure the presenters listen to themselves on repeat. Numbing over-enthusiasm. Hours of. Ughh. What it is about over-confident Americans that makes them think we want to hear them as much as they want to hear themselves? How about a scientist presenting in science fashion rather than daytime kiddies TV presenters gasping for attention? Is a wretch reaction a good our bad indicator of gut health?

interesting and easy listening

We found this interesting and enjoyable. It covered a number of different topical areas such as veganism and paleo diet, gut brain (sort of). It's a pity it completely missed out talking about fish. It would have been interesting to know what research says about say removing meat but keeping fish in the diet. But overall gave food for thought :-)

Listening to this is easy and an education to boot

loved it...not only imparts interesting and important information about the connection between our guts and our mind-body, but also gives simple instructions and tools to to go about making changes for an improved life... even going as far as discussing how to create new habits when you are feeling totally lacking in motivation.... job well done

GENERALLY SPEAKING IT IS GOOD

It's narrated good and gives you just heads up about the concept but if you already have a bit info regarding the subject then there is not much for you to grab.

painfully Slow.

I couldn't bare to keep listening. I truly believe that the actual content of chapter one could have fitted into the first 3 minutes. So if your like me andcwant the facts then I wouldn't recommend this. On the other hand if you have si much tome on your hands that you dont mind waiting for the od scrap of info amongst all of the filler then you might like it.

Interesting but not very useful

This was a good series apart from the fact that it's left me feeling like 'what now?'. Apart from eating and drinking fermented food (which I'm not keen on) I don't know what else to do to improve my gut... I know, less junk food and meat but I already do that. I understand they have a time limit but I feel like it would have been good to give some more tips at the end of specific foods we should eat.
