Publisher's Summary

Ne'Vaeh Washington attends Howard University, where her burning desire to be with Aaron Whitehaven, her best friend's boyfriend, prevents her from living her life to the fullest. Unbeknownst to her, Aaron feels the same way.

While Ne'Vaeh's best friend, Charlene Campbell, is out of town attending a funeral, Aaron confesses that he has been in love with Ne'Vaeh for nearly three years. He has kept it a secret until now because he believed that she was still in love with Jamie Green, her first love, who left her brokenhearted.

Charlene's relationship with Aaron has always been rocky. Her reputation for sleeping with just about anyone with a pulse preceded her, and now Aaron has stopped paying her any attention. A trip to Miami turns into a reunion with her old friend Jamie Green, a college football player about to go pro. The problem is that no matter what happens between him and Charlene, Jamie hasn't forgotten about Ne'Vaeh.

Um...

The description was captivating, but the actual book was a corny mess. Unrealistic run on sentences detailing peoples feelings and lives, misplaced and over the top expletives, overuse of nicknames ugh. The narration was not good. The narrator read in the same tone for pretty much every character and either it wasn’t there or she was horrible at pausing at punctuation. She was just reading straight through. You can tell the author was just putting ideas into the book as she wrote, there were random additions to the plot that had no build up, background and really felt like nonsense to create unnecessary drama... CHF and a suddenly wealthy family. Like when and how were all the operations taking place based on the main characters childhood? The book was unrealistic and like I said— corny as all get out. The characters pretty much repeat the same drawn out speeches throughout the book. The main characters cousin was annoying and her influence became ridiculous after a point... the main character continued to make stupid decisions, the main characters best friend was irrational, and no one who should have put the record straight did. The end of the book was nearing without proper revelations and closures so I had to return it. Sorry but it’s a no from me. It had so much potential.

Great story but the reader takes away from it.

I wanted to write a review for this one because when I read the reviews prior to trying this series, I thought it was a poorly written story. It was not poorly written. The reader seems to ignore punctuation and it sounds like rushed run on sentences. The character development is great. I don’t like any of the characters but the writer did an excellent job providing their motivations for their actions. Unlike a lot of romance novels, these people are realistic. It don’t like the characters because they aren’t the type of people I would want in my life and that’s because the author described them so well. It is worth the credit. I can’t wait to hear the next book.

den a muthfucka is corney

this is a good book but the author needs to eliminate "den a muthfucka" from her choice similies. it's amateu den a muthfucka. urban fiction doesn't require it. it diminishes your character development and its tacky den a muthfucka" this book was good with plot, drama, and suspense. do better. otherwise your books will just be lame then a muthfucka.
