The trouble is Sloane is smack dab next to me from nine to freaking five. And she's as captivating, brilliant, and sexy as ever, which means I'm taking more than the recommended dosage of office romance temptation every day. Make that every single second, because she's not only "the one" - she's the one who got away.

Publisher's Summary
Meet our hero....
Gareth St. Clair is in a bind. His father, who detests him, is determined to beggar the St. Clair estates and ruin his inheritance. Gareth’s sole bequest is an old family diary, which may or may not contain the secrets of his past...and the key to his future. The problem is - it’s written in Italian, of which Gareth speaks not a word.
Meet our heroine....
All the ton agreed: There was no one quite like Hyacinth Bridgerton. She’s fiendishly smart, devilishly in small doses. But there’s something about her - something charming and vexing - that grabs him and won’t quite let go....
Meet poor Mr. Mozart....
Or don’t. But rest assured, he’s spinning in his grave when Gareth and Hyacinth cross paths at the annual - and annually discordant - Smythe-Smith musicale. To Hyacinth, Gareth’s every word seems a dare, and she offers to translate his diary, even though her Italian is slightly less than perfect. But as they delve into the mysterious text, they discover that the answers they seek lie not in the diary, but in each other...and that there is nothing as simple - or as complicated - as a single, perfect kiss.

Bridgerton + Cozy Mystery = Perfection!
Ahhh I just love this sweet lovely book. This has the light happy feels that I love from a JQ novels: low angst, low drama, no tears and little heartache.
This book really has the feel of a cozy mystery. When Garett receives his deceased italian grandmother’s diary he ask his other grandmother (none other than Lady Danbury herself) who might translate it. Enter Hyacinth Bridgerton, companion to Lady D and totally randomly also passable Italian speaker/translator. Gareth and Hyacinth are thus thrown together and mysteries are both resolved and resurfaced by the secrets uncovered in the diary. Along the way Gareth and Hyacinth fall in love. It just a sweet little story of scandal and shenanigans. There is drama with Gareth’s father being the big old jerk he is but it’s over shadowed by humor (death by pigeon pecks and jokes about prospective lisping progeny) and hijinks. The issues between Gareth and Hyacinth are pretty quickly resolved by Hyacinth’s “take the bull by its horns attitude” - talking their issues out and discussing rather than brooding. I just love that. You get the sense that these two are a team, a unit no matter how they might bicker and argue. I just love it and it fits so well in the Bridgerton universe. Highly recommend for that plus Lady D, plus Anthony, Violet and just the whole Bridgerton experience!

Great story 💕💕
REALLY enjoyed this story— it was funny and loving!! Gareths grandmother was so witty with her comments to both young people that made it very comical.
Also Gareth and Hyacinth made quirky remarks to each other that made them fall in love with each other!
I would listen to this book again as I am sure I missed a few things because I was laughing at some straight forward remark being made amongst the characters.
Thank you

Even Rosalyn Landor couldn’t help .
Very thin story with with little character development. Extremely disappointed. Don’t waste a credit, remember the Bridgerton saga without this chapter.

Great book!
I have not been a fan of all the Bridgerton books. This one was great! I enjoyed Hyacinth’s story. There was a little suspense, fun banter between Hyacinth and Gareth, a few steamy scenes, and getting to know more about Lady Danbury.

Very Entertaining
After the previous book, ( When He Was Wicked) I was doubtful if I would enjoy this one, but thankfully the writing was back up to par with the books prior to WHWW. This one contains a very enjoyable subplotline and I couldn't stop listening! Living forward to hearing the last in this series!
