Publisher's Summary

Lean UX has become the preferred approach to interaction design, tailor-made for today’s agile teams. In the second edition of this award-winning book, leading advocates Jeff Gothelf and Josh Seiden expand on the valuable Lean UX principles, tactics, and techniques covered in the first edition to share how product teams can easily incorporate design, experimentation, iteration, and continuous learning from real users into their Agile process.

Inspired by Lean and Agile development theories, Lean UX lets you focus on the actual experience being designed, rather than deliverables. This book shows you how to collaborate closely with other members of your Agile product team, and gather feedback early and often. You’ll learn how to drive the design in short, iterative cycles to assess what works best for the business and the user. Lean UX shows you how to make this change - for the better.

Frame a vision of the problem you’re solving and focus your team on the right outcomes.

Bring the designers’ toolkit to the rest of your product team.

Share your insights with your team much earlier in the process.

Create Minimum Viable Products to determine which ideas are valid.

The standard for all design teams

Incredibly well written and articulated.
I believe everyone involved in designing in any industry would gain a great benefit from its contents. Very pleased to have found this book and to share with others.

Just another compilation of pre-existing ideas

The marketing material for this book is really good. I was convinced it was exactly what I was looking for.

but after listening to the first half of the book I realized I was just hearing a catalog of techniques that have been tried and tested over the last decades. the book didn't really bring any new ideas on how to apply them or combine them. it was really very disappointing.

Extremely Helpful for UXers

I was designer and developer in a cross functional team and I wanted to learn how to help our small team excel. This book defined practices we already did without a name and created improved/new protocols for us. I recently transitioned to researcher and this laid the ground work for the new position. great read, but I highly recommend purchasing the phyiscal book for the references and guides.

Much more practical than Lean Startup

Great listen to establish the Lean UX mindset. Dense with practical details. But to implement it - it's only a beginning. For me, the next step is to have a paper version to use as a guide to actually implement the process.

Practical guide to bringing design to organisation

Great book that has aged well. Very practical and informative, with good examples. Would highly recommend for those who want to go beyond the backlog management of most "agile" adoptions

Not bad ideas, but lots of consultancy advertising

Not bad ideas, but lots of consultancy advertising. The author is mainly touting his own horn and straight out tries to get clients for his consulting agency.

Insightful and very useful

Great and practical insight into how to move your thinking as a UX Designer working with Agile dev teams forward. How to adapt your mindset and your product team mindset to improve your delivery of digital products.
