Editorial Reviews

Barbara Caruso's rendering is wonderful. She skillfully combines the voices of a fairly large cast. Just as splendidly, she presents the text in an old-fashioned style, tone and pronunciation befitting the setting of the story. The four sisters, though each unique, must be a challenge even for several voices, but Caruso's solo voice always enthralls. The performance is worthwhile no matter what previous experience with Little Women the listener has.

Critic Reviews

"Barbara Caruso gives a delightful reading of an old-fashioned, reassuring classic. For all ages." (Lawrence Eagle Tribune)

Another classic. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to the tales of 4 sisters constantly growing, exploring, crying, celebrating, and cruising through life with the setbacks, success, life events, and societal changes. Very ahead of its time I will have to say. At times I wonder, we have so many pieces of fiction, movies, and events in the last 100 years which were major milestones of an open-minded and accepting society. Where did it all disappear suddenly? I mean yes the book doesn't totally preach all the right things, but according to the 1800s, it is logical.

Anyways, back to the book. I am a sucker for happy endings and this one ended on a perfect note. The ups and downs of the March family could not ruin the spirits of the girls and their love for each other. If you have a sister you will relate to it the max.

A Classic for a reason
