Well Written But Witchy Heroine

Both books in the series were well written overall. The over all story arc and development of scenes and settings were well done. Most of the characters, excepting the most peripheral characters, were well rounded. But the heroine’s lack of maturity and tendency towards game playing was irritating and sometimes absolutely *itchy.

Didn't care for it at all.

I struggled to finish it. No part was memorable. Male narrator sounded old. The story about billionaires is getting quite old. The teenagers were bratty and not believable. Just not up to the author's normal standards.

A Tad Repulsive Heroin

Much as I like this book, Claire, the female lead is INCREDIBLY annoying and anyone without patience might frustratingly end listening to the book just because of her.

Though 12 years older than her fiance, Claire seems to be a pushover, at times, and lacks the conviction and poise of a strong independent woman. However, she seems to be ignorantly godmatic and stuck up on the wrong things and for the wrong reasons. Arrghhhh!

Ugh!

I disliked both main characters. I couldn’t believe I hat a grown woman would act so childish. I think that CJBloom’s overacted performance was the major problem.

a second chance to happily ever after

This is a great continuation of Claire and Jonathan's journey to self-discovery. It's delightfully full of angst, passion and a second chance at romance. As the plot thickens, heart-breaking issues come to the surface for both characters. I truly loved this story. Whitney G's writing is superb. Narrators Bloom and James put a lot of heart and steamy sexiness into their performance.

Male lead is basically abusive

I guess if domineering, possessive, immature bordering on emotionally abusive men is your type, then you'll love this book. Otherwise, give it a skip... I could barely get through it... It was a bit charming in the first but he just got worse in the second book. Billionaire or not, he's just mean...

Jonathan is controlling and childish

First, the male reader is awkward. He’s adding periods or pauses where there shouldn’t be any. Next, Jonathan is controlling and childish. It’s weird to me that he treats Claire like she’s his age or younger.
Last, Claire’s daughters are crappy humans. I know Claire has flaws but it’s hard to believe that they are a product of her.

Good story but annoying main characters.

I’ve read other reviews, that talked about how annoying Claire was. I found Jonathan obnoxious, conceited and controlling. Their love story was cute but sometimes they both were just too much.
