Il mondo è stato distrutto da una fitta nebbia che ha invaso il pianeta. Fino al giorno in cui, con orrore degli isolani, Niema, la scienziata più anziana, viene trovata brutalmente uccisa. Oltre ad aver lasciato l’intera isola sotto shock, l’omicidio ha innescato un abbassamento del sistema di sicurezza intorno all’isola, l’unica cosa che teneva a bada la nebbia.
