Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Magnus Chase and the Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan, read by Michael Crouch.

Loki the trickster god is free from his chains. Now he's readying Naglfar, the Ship of the Dead, armed with a host of giants and zombies, to sail against the Norse gods and begin the final battle of Ragnarok. It's up to Magnus Chase and his friends to stop Loki's plans, but to do so they will have to sail across the oceans of Midgard, Jotunheim and Niflheim in a desperate race to reach Naglfar before it's ready to sail on Midsummer's Day.

Along the way, they will face angry sea gods, hostile giants, and an evil fire-breathing dragon who happens to be a former acquaintance. But Magnus's biggest challenge will be facing his own inner demons. To defeat Loki, Magnus will need to use words, not force. This will require finding a magical elixir so deadly that it will either make Magnus Chase powerful enough to out-talk the silver-tongued Loki, or destroy Magnus utterly.

This one I liked very much!

I’ll admit I’m not a big fan of audiobooks, sometimes I can’t engage with the content, get bored and just drop the audiobook altogether. This one was amazing!!! Michael Crouch’s performance was phenomenal :) he can make his voice a 100 different ways when the dialogs involve a lot of characters! Loved it very much! Will keep an eye out for more books read by him!

Normalising

All of this book is refreshing. Gender fluid, a Muslim girl observing Ramadan...thank Mr Riordan for writing this and opening up 10 year old son to a world where diversity is celebrated.

subtle but noticeable SJW propaganda

Rick becomes more and more politically correct in each book and it's getting annoying, one day SJW and being politically correct are going to go out of fashion for those people and when the book is read then they will just cringe at some of the words in his books

even at nearly 40 I LOVE this series

Rick writes as though each and every character is his best friend! The way Alex has grown is amazing. His understanding of Muslim culture is inciteful. The way it all comes together keeps you entertained to the very last word and leaves you wanting the next book.... like now!

Magnus Chace book3

Amazing. Great But I would like a painfully buitful mane character (make her a bad ass sexey girl )and make her have a super power to make a man fall in love with her (not that she needed to use. Magic it make them fall in love with her) so she could dlipritily break their hart plz I know u can do it

A great book

I really enjoyed this book, as I have with the rest of the series and the Percy Jackson books. I really liked the including of Magnus learning about different cultures—such as Islam. I did like the way the narrator put emotion into his words, so you could clearly understand his tone—the sarcasm was well enunciated. However, I would have preferred it if the narrator had remained the same as the preceding two, as did others, because it can be a bit off putting when you have developed a voice for the protagonist and then it has changed. Some of the pronunciations confused me a little. But overall, I would really recommend this for anyone of all ages :)

Pretty good

The thing a lot of people are saying is that they don’t like the book because it’s to cheesy, addressing all those people, the book is supposed to be cheesy! That’s what makes it fun! Also,One or two people said that it’s mostly focused on people who are already fans of Rick and less enjoyable for people who are new to him. Well you would have to know and like Rick because this is the third book in the Magnus Chase series!

Too fast

It’s being read to fast, but if I slow down the speed, even by one, it sounds like it is being read by a robot that is having difficulty learning english.
