Story
Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek God. I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. That's when things started really going wrong. Now I spend my time fighting with swords, battling monsters with my friends, and generally trying to stay alive. This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.

Nice-ish
The story is nice, but the humor is a little too childish in places for my liking. I think the most interesting thing about this story is the unique characters. The narration is slow, so I played it at x1.15 speed or so.

Brilliantly charming if somewhat hard to get into
The narrator was lively and really held my interest. His variety of voices gave a distinct personality to each character without distracting from the overall story.
Magnus's story is a little messy to begin, with plot elements that struggle to come together at first but persevere and you'll be rewarded with a rich, exciting journey of four friends that celebrate diversity and excitement.

I hate to review poorly
The story is incredibly gripping, and fun. The narration is impossible to follow, it sounds like it's being read to a 5-year-old and unfortunately he can't pronounce very basic words correctly. I have nothing against the narrator personally and wish him all the best, however if I had to provide an audiobook that represented the failures of the American education system it would be this one.
