Publisher's Summary

Emotionally crippled Liz isn't looking for a relationship when she meets delish boy-next-door Cohen. He's several years younger, a volunteer firefighter...and a virgin, making him totally off-limits. But never one to back away from a challenge, she develops a close friendship with Cohen while she continues to satisfy her physical needs elsewhere.

Even as she spends her evenings in another man's arms, she somehow finds herself curled up in Cohen's bed each night. It's been a long time since she's had a true, honest-to-goodness make-out session, but Cohen's showing her just how much fun not having sex can be.

When Cohen is injured in the line of duty, Liz's real feelings for him rise to the surface, and she has to decide if she's willing to take a risk on love after enduring so much heartbreak in the past.

Make Me Yours was a good smexy sequel.

In Unravel Me, we saw the story of Aiden and Ashlyn. Now it’s time for Ashylyn’s best friend Liz’s story. Make me Yours is Kendall Ryan's second book in her Unravel Me series. We met Liz in Unravel Me (Book 1) as the funny sassy best friend who doesn't take anything too seriously. We didn't really get to know much more about her other than she could be bitchy and protective. In Make me Yours (Book 2), Liz meets Cohen. Cohen was the sexy-hot-guy-upstairs-neighbor. He's a total package. The first time they meet it's not really with a bang. But after an unwelcome bat takes up residence in Liz's apartment and she seeks shelter and assistance upstairs with the hot, virginal firefighter - things start to heat up. They start a friendship that quickly turns into more. There are some HOT AND STEAMY moments between these two. And for Cohen being a virgin - he's certainly not lacking in experience. This book is sexy and leaves your heart pumping. Neither of them can deny the desire and connection they feel. But Liz holds back because of her past and her fear of hurting Cohen. At first I really started to get irritated at Liz for pushing away & avoiding this perfect and patient man. But later on I understood her reasons and realized things had to happen this way for them to find their happiness. We end up learning about the real Eliza (Liz). Her story was very heartbreaking and traumatic and explained why she portrays herself the way she does. These two go through some serious moments that test whether they are really meant to be together. Liz has to mourn her past and deal with her issues before she can truly be worthy of Cohen's love. In the end, the book they both got their well deserved HEA!

Your past is no excuse for your present behavior

I didn't care for Liz/Eliza from Unravel Me (book 1) I thought she was a real piece of work and she didnt let me down here. It's sad that she had heartbreak in her past but that doesn't give anyone the right to treat people the way she did in her present. She didn't care about Cohen and the beliefs he had. It took her forever to grow up and act like an adult. Cohen didn't deserve any of her toxicity. I would happily give him a redo with someone who deserves him. And man his mom sure was judgmental especially with her past.... I wish we would have been able to witness the scene of him telling her to shove it and her earing crow to Liz. Since I only had to listen to this and not read it I was able to finish it. But if I was only reading it I would have given it up long ago.

Inocent

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I love the story and the performance is good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved by Cohen's relationship with his mother and sister. His Mom needs to let go but he is so indulgent.

Decent Read with some cra-cra moments!

Overall Rating: 3.75 Stars Overall opinion: The H will drive you a bit nuts with her attitude towards relationships (basically she is an alpha-guy trapped in a female body) but eventually you find out why she is that way. Her cowardly attitude towards the end almost caused me to not finish the book. The mom is a complete psychopath and needs a 2x4 with nails to the head. Her disgusting behavior towards the end towards the h will let you know why! The fact that the h agreed pissed me off just a bit. The friends are good but can be a bit judgmental. They definitely improve as the story goes on. The ending was definitely rushed! Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary. Narrator(s) good POV: 90% h Overall Pace: medium Instalove: no H Rating: Very Good h Rating: Good to ARGH to Ugh to Good Sad/happy/thrill/Angst/TSTL happy and angsty! Heat Level: 4/10 Descriptive Sex: 5/10 OW/OM Drama: Sort of Sex with OW/OM: No Cheating: No Separation: Yes Triggers: common sense Closure (HEA/HFN/Cliffhanger): HEA Additional Thoughts?

Parts of the story were amazing...

... But other parts of the story were INFURIATING. The female character was not that likeable. She kept wondering if she were good enough for the male character. (she wasn't) There were weird holes in the plot that were never quite addressed... Also, the guy narrator at the end sounded old enough to be her DAD, not her lover. It was weird. I loved the first half of this story... But I couldn't make myself love the rest. But if you're looking for a steamy story... This is it! Wow.

Just okay

Kendall Ryan’s work varies from cute and sexy to hot and steamy. After the first book in this series, I expected a bit more hot and steamy. Leah Mallach did a great job narrating. Sean Crisden mispronounced several words, and I just don’t care for his voice. He certainly didn’t sound like a college student. If you want a cute rom-com, this is your book.

A Feel Good Book

Leah Mallach is an amazing narrator! You will love Cohen. He’s the boy that everyone roots for. I loved the chemistry between the characters. I loved the need and how it pulls you. You will feel it in the pit of your stomach. Some funny parts too that make you chuckle out loud.

Good story featuring a male "virgin"

This was a cute short story that featured a male "virgin" and a woman who was way more experienced and not looking for the same things he wanted. I use the term virgin loosely since Cohen, the hero, had done things that weren't intercourse so by that definition he wasn't "inexperienced" to me. I suppose since that meant he was a virgin by a cishet standard, it fit. I was lowkey annoyed that the blurb claims she's "older" but it was a 4 year difference, and they still in their 20's so 25 with a 21 year old wasn't really a significant old different so I laughed everytime Eliza made it seem like he was so much younger than her(the references were silly lol).

Now that I got that out the way, I loved their dynamic. He was a responsible young guy who hadn't done anything that would ultimately get a girl pregnant since he was trying to avoid being his parents; she was a woman who'd suffered way too many losses to count, so in turn it made her never seek long term relationships with men she could fall in love with.

It took soooooo long for the real loving to take place, and it was painful hoping every next chapter would have them down and dirty. But when it finally came, it was hot and worth it, and it was the best male virgin dynamic with a non-committal/more experienced woman I've read so far. The storyline will be hard to top with the next male virgin trope I read!

Okay

Good story idea, but I was hoping for more. Missed opportunities for interaction between the couple. Writing style didn't suspend my disbelief.
