Unless you have Ant Middleton as your mentor....

The former special forces soldier, and star of SAS: Who Dares Wins, has recruited five first-time Virgin Money London Marathon runners who have recently faced-up to a variety of mental health challenges.

Supported by elite marathon runner Mara Yamauchi and sports psychologist Dr Josephine Perry, Ant is on hand to help them battle through their self-doubt, anxiety and fears, can they overcome their psychological barriers to reach the finish line?

Terrible

Not a podcast just the audio of him coaching a group of people wanting to run a marathon. Lots of sending people off to run 1km and then the audio cuts off and then people return out of breath. Not inspiring in anyway. Pleased I listened to this before I bought his book.

Be inspired!

Just finished listening to this pod cast. Very inspiring. It's really made me think that I've got to set myself a challenge like this. I wish all the participants the best of luck. 👍😉

Beyond pointless

Taking a bunch a bunch of marathon runners, listening to them running around while Middleton shouts motivating things at them, does not make a compelling Podcast. I got zero value from this.

Want to listen to more

Really facinating! I'm not a runner but am training for a week long walk and in the past I have a track record of giving up when things get hard so I cannot wait to hear more of the psychological methods behind how to keep going when things get tough. Tha k you for making this 😁

Nobody achieved their goal.

This podcast had potential. COVID-19 obviously had an impact, but I thought at least one of them would’ve run a marathon by themselves on the date that was originally set. I thought it was pretty weak minded of them tbh. Nothing against Middleton though, I thought he did a good job with what he had to work with.

Great motivator and that is not there to blow smoke.

As ex military member I’ve found Ant to be a great writer. In a way that non military people can understand, even though he holds back on physical and mental strain that he has had to endure on top of professionals pushing mind and body well past its limits. Where there is no chance of finishing if you allow the thinking patterns to take control of your actions. Great person to have as a guide for an event requiring preparation and performance. As you can be your worst enemy at even the smallest feeling of pain or questioning yourself. Many events are designed to not be possible to win or finish, as learning that failure or circumstance is best learnt before it happens. Letting the mind and body improvise adapt and overcome to achieve the end goal.
