Publisher's Summary

Heather Myles isn't exactly thrilled to accompany her groupie roommate to an Emerald Phoenix concert. The aspiring screenwriter would rather be home with a good book. After Susie pleads with her though, Heather relents. What the heck? Maybe a change of scenery is just what she needs to combat her desolation over getting turned down by yet another small production company.

After the performance, Jett Draconis, lead singer and guitarist for the band, isn't up for the party scene. He's grown tired of being mauled by horny devotees...until an auburn-haired goddess catches his eye. Though she initially rebuffs his advances, he's determined not to take no for an answer. Sparks erupt between him and Heather, but Jett knows better than to fall in love. A secret from his past could destroy him - and everyone close to him - if he does.

Whoa!

4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!!!

Whoa there! I was not expecting this story at all. Having only read a few of the Misadventures series, I saw that Helen Hardt was coming out with her own installment and I quickly signed up to review. I was expecting your typical rockstar romance but Helen Hardt surprised me with this story. Yes you have the typical debauchery that is common amongst that genre but the twists and turns really set this one apart from the rest. Helen Hardt put her stamp on it and brought us a great story that I was happily lost in for a few hours. My only complaint was the ending. I wanted just a little more. An epilogue would have been great to see how things turned out for all characters in the end. I'm left with some questions but not enough that I feel the story was left incomplete. I'm just being greedy and my usual bookwhore self.

Monotonous read with alot of sex and very little

If you are looking for a genuine romance with an actual storyline, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for something that is the equivalent of a literary porno, then it is. I found it very frustrating because every interaction between the H and h was pretty much just sex with both of them INTERNALLY extolling the virtues of their partners while whining about how much they love them but can never be with them for some big mysterious reason. It takes a while before they actually SAY any of it out loud. Afterward they go their separate ways only to be drawn back together and repeat the scene again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Throw in an older woman rival/bad guy pulling strings to complicate the storyline and there you have it. The other frustrating thing is that the ending confrontation between the H and the older woman/bad guy that the story is building up to never happens. This leaves you with no sense of closure to his situation. I got the feeling that the writer was so focused on the sex in the story they forgot what it was actually supposed to be about then couldn't figure out how to end it so they just cut it off and wrapped it up haphazardly.

Don’t be fooled, there’s F/F several times

This could have been a 5, but I hate that Audible and the author didn’t disclose the female on female scenes throughout the story. I love erotic and whether it’s 1 male or 4 on one woman I love any of it, but nothing turns me off more than females doing it together. I wouldn’t pay 1cent for a book if I knew it was in there. This will an author that I unfortunately will put on my never again list for reads & listens.

Cheesy and Borderline Soft Porn

The best thing about this story was Lance Greenfield's narration.
Otherwise, the plot was cheesy, the instalove is enough to gag on and the sex is basically soft porn. Writers need to stop using sex scenes as a filler for the stories. It's repetitive, graphic and downright boring after the first time it happens. How many times do they think we need to know how often someone's gal or guy parts get touched, twisted or pinched? Listen if you have audible escape. Otherwise do not waste a credit.

Jett and Heather

The raunchiness did not stop in this story. I did not really feel a love story between Jett and Heather, it was more lust and passion. It was hard to get past the references to smells.

Weird to be left satisfied but not

On ok version of the rock star meets normal girl trope. There were sparks and chemistry and lust but the love wasn’t believable. I liked Jett and Heather but would need more of their story to get the Love with a capital L. The twists and conflicts made it interesting but it was wrapped up in the last few minutes making it feel rather abrupt, like whoops times up let’s end it. There was potential for that to go better I felt, even within the limits of the Misadventures series.
Awesome narration.

The narrators saved this

It started out so promising! I love Lance Greenfield and Ava Erickson! That’s where the goodness ends! The story line was so weak! It was mostly sex. These two fell in love with maybe 30 minutes of conversation leading up to that 1/2 of that was the fighting about her wanting him. I’ve never read anything by this author, so I don’t know if it’s the norm, but she wrote some pretty cringe worthy sex scenes. She used the word Turgent too many times! And tummy is not a sexy word, it’s a word a 3 year uses. This girl seems to have morals and standards and then throws them all away. It makes her so unlikable!

This was such a struggle

It's always nice to have a rock romance, but this was more of teen dream with a love-at-first-sight plot; meaning there was basically none there. It does get tied up, ha, but with everything miraculously working out in the last 4 mins I was baffled at how rushed it felt.
