Story
The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar. Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born. Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day - when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.

Story
It should be the most shocking news I’d ever gotten - my boyfriend is getting married. Okay, technically he’s my ex-boyfriend. Two months ago he decided he wanted a break. I still thought he was my happily-ever-after. On any other day, knowing he was gone for good would be the worst thing that could possibly happen. But not today. Because not only is my boyfriend getting married - his bride is my best friend. And they’ve sent me an invitation. There’s no way I’m going to attend. I don’t care if it’s in beautiful Scotland. Nothing and no one could convince me.

Being labelled a player never stopped me from being successful with women. Until I met Truly Harbury. Truly was the first girl who ever turned me down. And she might just be the first woman with whom I ever fall in love. When an emergency means she needs my help running her family’s charity, I’m happy to introduce her to the glitz and glamour of the London business world - taking her to dinners, coaching her through speeches, zipping up the sexy evening gown I helped her pick out. The more time we spend together, the more I want to convince her I’m not a man to avoid.

My friend Raquel didn't pull any punches when she warned me about my brand-new costar and his notoriously player-esque ways. Apparently, my most important mission on my first role in a feature film is to stay immune to his charms. Are you kidding me? Production costs on this movie are in the hundreds of thousands a day, and staying away from him is supposed to be at the top of my list? Pfft. Puh-lease.

I can’t believe I have to go home to Nebraska for my sister’s wedding. I’m gonna need a wingman and a whole lot of vodka for this level of family interaction. At least my bestie agreed he’d man up and help. Too bad he had to catch a different flight than me. Then, his plane got delayed. And finally - because bad things always happen in threes - instead of my best friend, his evil twin walks out of the airport. If you looked up doesn’t-deserve-to-be-that-confident, way-too-hot-for-his-own-good billionaire in the dictionary, you’d find a picture of Grady Holt. He’s awful.

I got her fired. Okay, so I’d had a bad day and took it out on a bystander in a pizza shop. But there’s nothing innocent about Ally Morales. She proves that her first day of her new job in my office, after being hired by my mother. So, maybe, her colorful, annoying, inexplicably alluring personality brightens up the magazine’s offices that have felt like a prison for the past year. Maybe, I like that she argues with me in front of the editorial staff. And maybe, my after-hours fantasies are haunted by those brown eyes and that sharp tongue.
Publisher's Summary
Dexter Daniels prefers gems over women. Emeralds over girlfriends. Diamonds over marriage. He might be the most successful jeweler of his generation, a loyal friend, and some say the most handsome man in London, but his past means he doesn’t deal in love.
When Hollie Lumen enters the ballroom where exquisite royal jewels are on display, she brings Dexter’s world to a screeching halt. Despite her hand-me-down dress and borrowed shoes, Hollie is even more stunning than the jewelry. Feisty, funny and ferociously independent, she’s all Dexter can see.
Hollie Lumen can’t catch a break. She thought an internship in London was her chance to escape her responsibilities back in Oregon and for her dreams to come true. When she’s fired only a few weeks after touching down, she’s ready to give up and go home.
Hollie never asks for help. She knows the only person she can rely on is herself. So, what’s she going to do about the tall, dark, handsome stranger who keeps rescuing her? She’s going to rescue him right back.
Mr. Knightsbridge is a stand-alone romance.

AN ENCHANTING STORY & A V. ENTERTAINING LISTEN
Whenever another contemporary romance is released from Louise Bay it always gets my attention.. followed by my credit of course because, by now, I know her plot-line will have a sexy, charming, gorgeous British male at the forefront deliciously read by Shane East.. and the hero usually has some commitment ‘issues’. Which reclusive talented Jewellery Designer Dexter Daniels, with his successful Jewellery Empire, certainly had because, buried deep is pain and hurt and a misguided belief he lost his only chance of forever love, and that didn’t change when he sees and talks to Hollie.. a beautiful ambitious American Interning with a rival Jewellery House. No, this journey is a subtle creep towards much more with a shaky side step here and there.. and, with every emotional door they opened and went through together sharing their histories, hurts and hungers, it drew them closer and closer.
And one of them will hold out a helping hand when the other has floundered.. one of them will tentatively suggest or nudge and the other will pick up the baton and run with it.. and one of them will open a door to show another perspective on an old wound which will unite brother to brother. Respect, friendship, loyalty, gratitude, forgiveness and beginnings will be forged over that time.. and something else.. undeclared love. But Hollie’s three months in London will fly by and end too soon. Because, as they work, design, laugh, privately sneak around and live and mesh together.. soul-destroying, future-crushing joy-seeping commitments back home in Oregon will stop everything in its tracks. But it won’t be the end.. or will it?
Worth a credit? It’s an easy and enjoyable dual POV mug of hot chocolate on a cold winter’s day. It’s a beautiful soft pillow plot-line with low angst, great secondary characters and a passive, predictable plot. It’s a sweet and simple Cinderella love story with a strong, capable, independent damsel determined to find a way out of her own mess when her fan is suddenly hit with something slimy. It’s a White Knight story because he just couldn’t help himself!! It’s a well-written story as LB’s well-placed gems deliciously reward the listener with chemistry, romance, character development, swoons and feels.. and when those priceless gems forge priceless love the fairytale is complete. It’s got heart and heat and happy ever afters and two very talented actors breathed life into the story, gave the cast characters of their own and brought the good, the bad and the ugly emotions to life .. so yes, IMO, it’s definitely creditworthy.

Missed the mark
I have to say Louise Bay is normally a rather talented writer but she missed the mark with this one. It's a strange read (or listen in this case) that is full of cringeworthy moments.
I found it very hard to connect with the self-proclaimed trailer trash heroine who spends so much time talking about being trailer trash that you well, get why she is where she is in life. It's just a series of horrible awkward, not well thought out moments in the book.
The author I assume tried to write a female character who was different had a unique background but she clearly has no experience with anyone who grew up like that and has no idea what she's talking about. It was just so poorly written and even worse, I have to blame the editor for allowing the glaring problems go to print in the first place.
I mean did nobody from the writing and editing process, alpha readers, or whoever not think that maybe just maybe it might be a bad idea to have a female lead who spends like 90% of her time referring to her trailer trash background? I mean seriously, nobody thought to mention this?
Thanks but no thanks to Mr. Knightsbridge. I think this is one book I'll be returning and I may have to think twice and buying another book from this author.
They say write what you know for a reason. Maybe that's some advice the author in the future might want to stick with.

Loved my journey to the London jewelry world
I love my journeys to London. Louise Bay takes me “across the pond” to places I’ve only ever dreamed of and with completely dreamy Brits. I loved this taste of the jewelry world and I to dysfunctional families.
Holly is a strong heroine but she doesn’t recognize how enabling she has become. Her sister, Autumn, has grown up to be an independent woman, thankful for everything her sister has done for her. But she also realizes it’s Holly’s time. And Dexter is “the one”. Dexter has some unresolved issues surrounding a betrayal by his brother following the death of his parents as a young man. His admiration of and love for Holly opens doors for him.
Fighting for what you want, you deserve, is a lesson they both learn. And the peace it brings is transforming.
And I am an absolute Shaneiak so I adored this narration by both narrators.

Really Sweet story
If Holly didn't make it her business to constantly sabotage her relationship with that delicious man, Dexter, I would have given this five stars. It was just too much for me to understand that she would walk away from this man for those reasons. Overall, great story and performances were outstanding. Love me some Shane!💗😍

Good, but a little mellow dramatic
I really loved Mr. Mayfair, so I was excited to read Mr. Knightsbridge! It’s good, but not great. The development time of the relationship is a little confusing (and incredibly short) and Hollie NEVER stops talking about her family in Oregon and how she has to always come to their rescue. It becomes a bit “poor me, always putting others first” and it was hard to get through towards the end.
Overall, a good read!

Sorry just no
Did she have to be a trailer living American? And if she was, how would she afford a non-paying internship in London and pay rent for both places and her sisters college tuition? Um, no. Her backstory did nothing to add to it. The main characters seemed very disconnected. I couldn’t find much chemistry.
The different from norm industry they worked in was a nice variation.
Overall quite disappointing a story.
Narration was great.

YES
The 2nd book in the series and I loved it more than the 1st if that's possible. The whole idea of a jewelry maker intrigued me while Dexter's character drew me in, in all the best ways. Then add Shane East to the mix and you have the perfect narration.
