Publisher's Summary

In Galway County, a chance at redemption is denied by an unforgiving killer....

Former New Yorker and interior designer Tara Meehan is eagerly anticipating the grand opening of her architectural salvage shop Renewals in her newly adopted home of Galway. She's in the midst of preparations when heiress Veronica O'Farrell bursts in to announce she's ready for some renewal of her own. To celebrate one year of sobriety, she's invited seven people she wronged in her drinking days to historic Ballynahinch Castle Hotel in neighboring Connemara to make amends in style.

But perhaps one among them is not so eager to pardon her past misdeeds. Veronica is found lying in the ruins of manor house Clifden Castle with an antique Tara Brooch buried in her heart - the same brooch Tara Meehan admired in her shop the day before, posting a photo with the caption: #Killerbrooch. Now she's a prime suspect, along with Veronica's guests, all of whom had motives to stab the heiress. It's up to Tara to pin down the guilty party....

Felt as though I were truly in Connemara

A Great narrator brings a great story alive.... And that's exactly what happens here! I love this author - this is her 5th book that I've either heard as an audible book or read.
I've never had the opportunity to travel to Ireland - but always wished I could. You've both brought me along for the adventure and journey. Thank you!

So wanted to love this

So disappointed in this series. I love the Irish Village series by this same author but this series is not on the same level. To be fair, the narrator is not as good and, in my opinion, it would be better if she skipped the “American accent”. We don’t talk like that!

Setting was good…

Taking place in Galway was the main draw for me. However, having to bear the protagonist, Tara’s, nearly endless musings and conjectures on who done it, was a struggle!
As the chapters accrued and the mysteries and bodies piled up, this character became evermore irritating.
Because of this, I’d never choose to read or listen to a sequel. Thats a bit disappointing, as I like to seek out stories based on the West of Ireland, my ancestral home.
Heather O’Neill’s narration was fine enough, though. So, overall, Murder in Galway did help me get through some hours post-knee replacement surgery; for that, I’m grateful.

Quite a who-dun-it

I love the Irish accents, countryside and lifestyles presented. The characters are beginning to grow on me as they have with Carlene O’Connor’s other series. It is enjoyable to watch them grow.
There are lots of twists and turns. I like the inclusion of animals.
I look forward to the next books.

another good listen

I love Carlene O'Connor book. The characters she creates are funny and compelling. The mystery always has enough turns to keep you guessing.
