Publisher's Summary

Filled with action, adventure, mystery, and historical detail, the Sackett saga is an unforgettable achievement by one of America's greatest storytellers. In Mustang Man, Louis L'Amour tells the tale of a man who lived by his own law, even if it meant being branded an outlaw.

Nolan Sackett was running ahead of a posse when he stopped to help a wagon stuck on the plains. But why was it stranded in the middle of nowhere with a beautiful, and murderous, young woman? Nolan was trying to find out when he ran into Penelope Hume, another attractive lady. She was the key to a cache of gold hidden in the mountains. But to get the rightful heiress there first, Nolan would have to help her beat out jealous relations, paid assassins, and a killer without a conscience...all maddened by gold fever.

Best narrator yet in the series

Couldn’t put this down. The story and the narrator was The best so far in this series of the Sacketts. Hope to hear more by Terrence Mann.

Tale of Western adventure

Excellent tale! And wonderful delivery. The descriptions of the landscape were very vivid, and the characters came to life, especially with the interesting voices the voice actor employed. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Excellent in every way!

The narrator (first person view) did an excellent job -- authentic main character accent and authentic accents for the other characters he voiced. I'd like to hear him again!

Great story

After being introduced to Nolan Sackett in the previous Sackett story, it was a pleasure to see his character developed in his own story. And with a very satisfying ending.

Great narrator!!

I’m a great fan of Louis L’Amour. Have been for years. I own a copy of most of the Westerns. That said, I was delighted to hear it for the first time, with a narrator whose voice was so right for this story- i will definitely look for the books read by him for my next L’Amour purchases!

Page turner

I enjoyed the book and often could not stop listening. Excellent narrator. Sometimes it is good to just listen to a good story without the Tolstoy meanings.

Good stuff<br />

Very typical for L'Amour and yet different. Excellent presentation by the reader. Nicely utilizing slight accent variations for different characters.
