Abdul Kalam, who started off as an insignificant little boy Rameswaram, but ended up becoming the president of the country, besides being a brilliant scientist as well. The book portrays the struggle that Dr. Kalam had to endure, as he climbed the ladder of success in life.

He speaks at length about each and every individual who impacted his life, during his formative years as a child and even when he was a young adult. He speaks about those who were the closest to him, such as his father, who loved God deeply. He also talks about his mother and her kindness. Apart from his parents, he speaks about his mentors, who molded his thoughts and directed his actions.

Absolute pleasure knowing the humble upbringing of the people's president. Dr Abdul Kalam takes us through his life journey from the coast of Rameshwaram to holding the highest office of the country- the president and beyond to his later years of teaching the young ignited minds. Most of the topics are superficially covered as they have been referred to in his previously published books with scrupulous details. He beautifully talks about his intent for writing the book with his demeanour touch (I don't want to spoil it, so better read or listen to this book to know about it). Loved this part, no wonder he was the people's president.
Now that I have completed this book, he mentions about the 2020 plan, I wonder if anyone remembers his vision for "India 2020"? We are literally 11 months away from 2020 and the goal is far from sight.
