About this listen
The great Norse myths are woven into the fabric of our storytelling - from Tolkien, Alan Garner and Rosemary Sutcliff to Game of Thrones and Marvel Comics. They are also an inspiration for Neil Gaiman's own award-bedecked, best-selling fiction. Now he reaches back through time to the original source stories in a thrilling and vivid rendition of the great Norse tales. Gaiman's gods are thoroughly alive - irascible, visceral, playful and passionate - and the tales carry us from the beginning of everything to Ragnarök and the twilight of the gods. Galvanised by Gaiman's prose, Thor, Loki, Odin and Freya are irresistible forces for modern listeners, and the crackling, brilliant writing demands to be heard around an open fire on a freezing, starlit night.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

A Different & A Real Perspective
Loved it. Specially recommended for all gamers and Marvel movie fans out there. The story differs from what we know from Marvel or Age Of Mythology or even the latest PS4 God Of War game. It gives us a different yet real perspective of Nords Gods and their world.
Also I really loved the narration done by the Author Neil Gaiman, it was as if my grandpa was telling me the story with different voice given to every character as part of the book.
Thank you Neil Gaiman and Audible for bringing this story together :)

Fine narration by Neil Gaiman
As a Gaiman fan, I would have downloaded any of his audiobooks. But this particular one caught my attention because I was curious to hear his version of Norse mythology. Gaiman brings to life all the heroic characters spicing their stories with humour, witty one-liners and soul. Thoroughly loved it.

Could feel the warmth of the tales.
I acknowledge my knowledge of the Norse gods bore from whatever I could muster from comics and tv show references. Thanks to Gaiman, now I'm already hooked. He achieved what he aimed for. His stories made me retell them, experience them over and over again.

Neil Gaiman is the Lord of all story tellers
One of my all time favourite book (audiobook as well). Neil Gaiman is like an old wise bard telling all the adventures he's ever had in his lifetime. He's one of the best narrators. The style of his writing is so expressive and evocative. He turned a huge and complex mythology into the most memorable bed time stories for people of all ages. Out of all his books, this one is my favourite.

It's beautifully told
This is beautifully written and narrated in a lovely lucid style. Many characters are difficult to pronounce or remember (which often happens with audio book). But overall, a very enjoyable read.
