Even today, the novel has a cult following and fan base among people of all generations. The book continues to be admired and garner critical acclaim for its tightly woven plot and vivid narration, the wit of the dialogue, and the way in which the power struggle and intrigues of the Chola empire were depicted.

An immersive experience
A 10 out 5 star rating, in my opinion would be underrated for this book. Amazing experience. To imagine to finish such an epic in a week is possible only through this narrative. Amazing work by the team. The power of narration is such that I could see the story while being narrated.

Fantastic experience overall
I started reading the book as I am very comfortable and like reading Tamil. Still, I thought why not try the audible experience and tried book 1. But, I was completely blown by the whole experience. I would dare say it is even better than the movie. Highly recommend this series to those who want to read the novel in its originality. Especially loved the songs, background music and the passionate narration. Hats off.

Gives a real-time experience
Amazing narration and perfectly aligned bgm! The tone of narration gives a realistic feel as though we've been taken to the Chola's era in person. Kudos to the entire team to have given the best presentation of this incomparable epic!
