A lone astronaut must save the earth from disaster in this incredible new science-based thriller from the number-one New York Times best-selling author of The Martian.

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish.

Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it.

All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

His crewmates dead, his memories fuzzily returning, he realizes that an impossible task now confronts him. Alone on this tiny ship that's been cobbled together by every government and space agency on the planet and hurled into the depths of space, it's up to him to conquer an extinction-level threat to our species.

And thanks to an unexpected ally, he just might have a chance.

Part scientific mystery, part dazzling interstellar journey, Project Hail Mary is a tale of discovery, speculation, and survival to rival The Martian - while taking us to places it never dreamed of going.

An indelible story of survival! Enjoyed every bit of it. There are plenty of things to love about this audiobook. Graces' enthusiasm for science is infectious. Watching him getting excited about an hypothesis and proving it is a delight. Power of friendship: you will know when you meet Rocky ;). This book is nothing short of science fiction masterpiece. Narrators don't just read the story-they bring it to life. Ray Porter has done fine job in adding nuance to every word and personality to every character.

A compelling Read!

A very well written book where the story
moves effortlessly between the past and the present.

The presentation (narration and sound effects) is excellent. Best in my experience so far.

Enjoyed it very much.

As a space nerd and someone who loves sci-fi, this book was a goldmine. The story starts as a blank state with the main character knowing as much as the reader(listener) themselves, as the protagonist realises why he's where he is, I felt taking that journey with him on an adventure to save his species. There are no cliches, no unnecessary filler of any kind, each sentence had everything to do with the story and eventhough the story goes back and forth in time, as the protagonist remembers, it is always intriguing and exciting to follow.
It's a story about ingenuity, companionship, the will to survive and of course nerdy space adventure to save the world.

A rollercoaster ride in space and memory
