Publisher's Summary
Into each life some rain must fall.
A woman crashes her car near the scenic Colorado ski resort town of Rocky Points and slips into a coma after suffering head trauma. The Sluice-Byron County first responders discover she's stolen her vehicle from central Washington, and doctors find her body is riddled with wounds that have nothing to do with the collision.
Chief Detective David Wolf of Rocky Points is two days from getting married when he learns the crash victim's identity is Special Agent Kristen Luke of the FBI - Wolf's colleague and former lover. As questions mount about her inauspicious arrival, Luke wakes up and provides no answers, because she can't remember.
When the Feds drop in to take Special Agent Luke back home, Wolf can't shake the feeling more danger is at play than they're letting on. In this action-packed new installment of the David Wolf mystery-thriller series, Wolf must choose between two loyalties, risking his new life at home to travel to the Pacific Northwest. Among biblical rains and ruthless gangs, can Wolf find the truth? Or will all he holds dear drown in deception?

This is a must read series!
This book begins with a group of gang members slaughtered and the children they are trafficking set free. The next thing that happens is David Wolf's old friend, Christen Luke (and past lover) working in Seattle is approached by a young man and told her FBI partner committed the murder she's investigating. When she becomes suspicious she is taken, zip tied and put in the trunk of a car. She escapes, steals a car and makes her way to Rocky Point, CO where Wolf lives. She needs his help. Two days before his wedding to Lauren he's off to Seattle to help Luke with a promise to get back for his wedding. Hmmmm?
I'm not sure if I'm crazy about the way this book ended but who knows what the the next book will bring? I have enjoyed every book in this series (I have just completed all eleven) and look forward to the next. The writing is excellent, the characters are fleshed out with flaws and all making them that much more believable. These are fast paced plot driven books with great storylines.
Sean Patrick Hopkins narrates all the books in the series flawlessly.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the entire series.

I have gotten attached to all these characters
I have truly enjoyed this series so far and become attached to the main characters. I am , however disappointed that the hero can’t seem to ever get the girl. Sorry if that’s a spoiler. I’m still distraught about the ending.😢

Uggghhhh the ending!!!!!!
I feel sooooooo jipped by this ending- not because it was written badly or unbelievable….. it was just heartbreaking, if you’re as invested in these characters as I am. I have been flying through this series grateful that I found it well after Jeff Carson started it (there’s no way I could wait years in between and I’m starting to get nervous now that I’m nearing the end of the list.) so needless to say, I am quite invested in these characters. I can’t deal 😭😭😭 I now have to hurry through the next 2 books so I can see what direction the story will go towards now. Sooooo good and yet soooo horrible at the same time.

Another great installment...
Although I really want David to consider his priorities.
I'm not really sure how much more his body can withstand!
On to book 12...I'm not really sure how I'm going to listen to something else after binging this series...

Oh, Snap!
I love this series and the characters within. This particular addition to the story is very bittersweet. It's definitely been a hallmark of the David Wolf series since the beginning. If it weren't for bad luck, he'd have no luck at all, as the saying goes. This author proves he won't pull any punches but will lead the reader right into the path of destruction with the characters.
Only Wolf could find himself embroiled in murderous mayhem in another state the day before his wedding to Lauren. I'll admit to having mixed feelings about that. For me, it indicated that Wolf's "White Knight" gene is almost toxic, allowing his normally pragmatic mind to be outvoted by the need to protect. At all costs. Maybe I should have seen this coming. In the movies, epic rain is usually an indicator of a major transition. Was the rain in this story, an attempt to soften the blow for us?
Dang, this author. I'm not even sure how to feel at this point in the series. I'm sad, hopeful, and still... happy? How did he manage to pull that off? I don't even know what I would prefer to happen at this point because Jeff Carson can somehow make me appreciate both sides of a situation. *eye-rolling* *hair-pulling* *expletives*
I've got to grab the next book. If you're new to the world of David Wolf and his elevator lifestyle (more ups and downs than an elevator operator), please don't start with this book. But you could start with just about any other book in the series and jump into this amazing work. Wherever you choose to start, just be prepared for fiercely fast plot lines, great characters that will grab your attention, and storylines that will grip and not let go.

Sometimes doing what’s right is tough!
Wolf is getting married in a few short days when his friend, and former gf, FBI agent Luke is found in a stolen car and suffering from amnesiac. From all appearances Luke was on her way to see Wolf. Soon the pair team up to get to the bottom of a sex trafficking ring…and to find out the dirty FBI agent. Will they survive this case? How will Wolf’s fiancée handle him running to his ex’s rescue and possibly missing their wedding? Yes, it bears repeating…I LOVE this series!!!

We Love This Series
My wife and I have listened to all of the David Wolf Series books and we love them. We love the characters and we love the different personalities. The only negative is the author seems to have become more graphic in sexual situations and his description of women. For both of us it has made listening a bit uncomfortable. The stories are good on their own. Leave the sex to our imagination.
