Only the serious stuff

Thomas Hardy is people's poet. His simple poems tell an emotional story so deeply that even a non-literary person is touched by them and experiences a surge of love. In this edition, there are very few such poems. The focus is on the serious ones. The soft fluidity is lacking. Poems such as 'The Self-Unseeing' are sorely missed.
