Publisher's Summary

Ram Rajya. The Perfect Land. But perfection has a price. He paid that price.

3400 BCE. India.

Ayodhya is weakened by divisions. A terrible war has taken its toll. The damage runs deep. The demon King of Lanka, Raavan, does not impose his rule on the defeated. He instead imposes his trade. Money is sucked out of the empire. The Sapt Sindhu people descend into poverty, despondency and corruption. They cry for a leader to lead them out of the morass. Little do they appreciate that the leader is among them. One whom they know. A tortured and ostracised prince. A prince they tried to break. A prince called Ram.

He loves his country, even when his countrymen torment him. He stands alone for the law. His band of brothers, his Sita, and he against the darkness of chaos.

Will Ram rise above the taint that others heap on him? Will his love for Sita sustain him through his struggle? Will he defeat the demon Lord Raavan who destroyed his childhood? Will he fulfil the destiny of the Vishnu?

Begin an epic journey with Amish's latest: the Ram Chandra Series.

Interesting

The books as promised provides a new look to the story of Ramayana which we have been hearing from Cildhood. The events though have similarities to the original Ramayan but what stands out the context has been changed to provide a refreshing new vision to the story

Average story with animated narration

The story line is average and as expected. It's the same genre as in shiva trilogy and there is nothing new to offer, felt the latter was better. In my opinion, Amish has to probably reinvent himself. And it's a brave attempt at a different style of narration but seemed to be animated at many occasions. The attempts to uplift the impact of the narration by changing the tone is so often counter productive. Overall an average story, an average setting with narration as the lowlight.

Extremely well told story

Extremely well told story. Baffles how Amish gets into so much detailing and research. Quite a spectacle.

Sagar does a good job of narration. Kept me glued

Phenomenal.

I have been Amish's fan since Immortals of Meluha.
And this is another fascinating book. I have read this book, but the audible gave my exquisite imagination of Ram, Sita and Laxman vivid colors.
Amish has admirable good writing and imagination.

Terrible narration

Terrible terrible narration, very bad voice acting. The reading is immature, childish and does not do justice to this genre.

Dramatic

The narration is over the top and too melo dramatic. Amish looses the plot this one. Came back to his books because of good memories from Inmortals of meluha. Disappointed :(
Perhaps a good book for kids

entertaining but historically inaccurate

story was written in most captivating way possible. expectation should be strictly entertainment not to value historically accurate facts, in that regards this is written very well with good narration which almost feels like movie on audio.

changed the story to his liking and its boring

swayamvar episode was taken from mahabharata and wrote it to his liking. most of the story is modified to his liking. there were dates mentioned in the book like 7032 BC and places like Egypt, episodes like that of Dhenuka and I believe he didnt care of the credibility of the information. things that have happened already needs a thorough research before putting them on to paper. utterly ridiculous to write something in the name of creativity.

Enticing Read

Really well written and very well performed. Please do not think its a retelling of Ramayana, this is a work of fiction inspired by Ramayana and a very good one I should say.

More realistic. Excellently written and narrated

Amish has added his own touch to the great Ramayana. I know it's not like the original and we can never compare both as they are perfect in their own ways. This version suits more to the current situation as it is more realistic and kinda scientific. There is no doubt Amish is one of the best writers. initially when I started hearing I thought I won't like it the way i liked Shiva Triology because when i saw the title I had experienced the same old Ramayana tale and this was nothing like that but as soon as I stopped comparing two of em this book turned out to be great. the narrator has done a great job too. overall I don't have words for Amish and his team. I can't wait to start the next book :)

Excellent story writing

Poor performance on audible(specially the moods and yelling irritates).
.
Apart from the issue with audio performance, the story was brilliant and written to the logic. It would have being great to understand the story from raavan side as well.

Beautiful enactment of 3000 year old script in modern language

Two reasons to read this book.
Fact one that original was written 3000 years ago is a reason enough.
Secondly that original scripture refers to another Vedic scripture predating this one by another 3000 years, shows how unlearned we are today.
