Publisher's Summary

The 40th anniversary edition of the best-selling Tarot classic.

Rachel Pollack’s Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom inspired a whole generation of Tarot students. Often referred to as the "Bible of Tarot books", it is a landmark book that helped launch today’s Tarot renaissance. Drawing on mythology and esoteric traditions and delving deeply into the symbolism and ideas of each card, the book offers a modern psychological interpretation of the tarot archetypes rather than a system of esoteric symbolism.

The Tarot Bible

I’ve been searching Audible for over three years hoping to one day find this book available here. I’ve read this book numerous times but I find that with each read, I discover additional hidden wisdom. Rachel Pollack covers all the bases here, beginning with Tarot history, moving to meanings/interpretations of the individual cards, then finally to Tarot spreads and using the cards in a reading. The Major Arcana is studied first, then the Minor Arcana is covered a suit at a time. Her ability to relate the Tarot to the Archetypes and the Tree of Life brings even deeper meaning to the cards. If you are yearning to delve deep into the Tarot and even deeper into yourself, please read Rachel Pollack’s Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom.

Better as a physical book

I'm dyslexic, so i often get books I really want to finish & understand in both a physical and audio copy. I did this here, and I have to say I'd rather highlight and read the physical. I also have ADHD though. so.

The Greatest Tarot book ever written.

This was the first serious book on tarot I ever read. It changed my life. Rachel is also one of the kindest and most intelligent humans on the planet. Happy to be able to listen to this great classic on the go!

Bought paperback and took notes as I listened.

The best ever explanation of understanding tarot. I took notes in the book as I listed and attached tabs to the pages so I can find quick reference. Putting her practical suggestions to work immediately. So grateful to receive this wonderful life work from Rachel. The bonus interview with author should be required for each book on Audible. Wish I could rate higher than a ten. The reader was engaging and easy to understand.

Excellent

This book was truly amazing. It is a must read for those not just learning, but for advanced tarot practitioners. This is also great reading for help with self awareness, and self actualization. The narrator was a pleasure to listen to.

The Way She Thinks

I loved the way she read it, the speed of her voice, her broad and open perspective, and the way she talks about every different point of view but puts it together so we understand it as one. Truly incredible! On my second round listening.

Best Audio Tarot Book?

Good introduction to Tarot, with some emphasis on intuitive reading and bringing the Tarot alive for one's self (as opposed to books that try to tell you what "experts" say the cards mean).

Probably the best Tarot book available as audio - but that's not saying much....

PDF Missing in Audible

I am not finished with the book yet. I will update my review for the audible when I’m done.

So far the reading is clear and easy to understand.

Would like the accompanying PDF though.

Wonderful to have this on Audible

Seventy Eight degrees is a true classic in Tarot studies, how wonderful to have it in Audio book form. Like revisiting an old friend after many years and seeing them in a new way.
The Narration felt a little fast in places, probably due to the accent but it is easily adjusted.
Nice touch Audible- the interview with Rachel Pollack at the end.
I would recommend any one who has read 78 degrees to buy this and for any one who is interested in deepening their understanding of the patterns, the stories and relationships in their life. For those who wish to access the wonderful gift that Tarot offers us.
Thank you

So much juicy information

This book is probably in most astrologers libraries and rightly so - it is such a useful reference.
Listening to the audiobook has certainly helped me to understand it even more - lots of insights.
Highly recommended

One of the best tarot books out there

Very well read, and not flaky, wishy washy interpretations like a lot of the newer books, something from back in the good old golden heydays when this stuff was more real and less commercial.

Understand why it's a classic

Really enjoyed. Disappointed in interview sound quality because it was a very interesting interview but hard to understand.
