Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Publisher's Summary
Penguin presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel. Read by William Hope, Christopher Ragland, Andy Secombe, Charlie Anson, Eric Meyers, Laurel Lefkow, Liza Ross, William Hope, Adna Sablyich and Katharine Mangold.
Deadwood, USA. A girl sneaks out just before dark to ride her new bike. Suddenly the ground disappears beneath her. Waking up at the bottom of a deep pit, she sees an emergency rescue team above her. The people looking down see something far stranger....
We always look forward. We never look back.
That girl grows up to be Dr. Rose Franklin, a brilliant scientist and the leading world expert on what she discovered. An enormous, ornate hand made of an exceptionally rare metal which predates all human civilisation on the continent.
But this thing...it's different. It challenges us. It rewrites history.
An object whose origins and purpose are perhaps the greatest mystery humanity has ever faced. Solving the secret of where it came from - and how many more parts may be out there - could change life as we know it.
It dares us to question what we know about ourselves.
But what if we were meant to find it? And what happens when this vast, global puzzle is complete?
About everything.

If you love a good scifi thriller, this book is it. The performances of each of the characters in this audio book was so so engaging. Excellent buy and I am going to get my hands on the rest of the Themis files!

Excellent narration kept me hooked
The story starts off really interesting, but it feels a little dragged into the following books in the series.
Audible invested in an excellent performance. Each character has a voice and an accent, which still is not overwhelming.

clichéd Hollywood si-fi
As the title of my review suggests, the story consists of quite a few used plots from Hollywood. Isn't all that bad, but don't expect much new stuff. The narration is pretty good and unique and quite frankly suited for an audiobook format.

Simply amazing
I absolutely loved the audible version. The dialigue delivery took the story to another level. The interview format brought in variety with different voices coming in. I must say that thr unnamed interviewer had a compelling way of getting things done, a smooth talker indeed. The book and story by itself is a but different than your typical scifi, and I'm looking forward to the next part.
