Superman's story is always captivating.

The narration was amazing and held my interest throughout the story. It's a story that I knew about. But the narration kept my interest and left me with the urge to listen more.

recommended

if you wish to know about Superman's struggle as a teen, this is the book for you. I hope that the next iteration will be more geared to adult Superman rather than continued young teen, but it's still worth hearing. and it doesn't matter if you're a hard-core fan or not, you'll enjoy it

I wanted more!

I love the idea of the DC Icon Series and the origins of these amazing superheroes! Matt de la Pena did a great job of engaging me with his descriptions and dialogues, as well as putting a different spin on this story for me. However, this is the one origin that we know a lot about and therefore might have been even better going all the way back to his infancy. I think that would have given it the same length and depth of the others and made it even more enthralling!

It's like listening to Smallville.

I even imagined the characters as being played by the actors from the show. Brilliant!

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!

A very engaging take on teenage Clark and some big moments in his development as well as touching on some really interesting topics. It would've been better with different voices for each of the main characters, but as is, it is a really great story if you enjoy Clark/Superman.

Missed Opportunity

An amzing story ruined by intense political views and themes being shoved in your face.
