Publisher's Summary

Henry James’ The Aspern Papers was a novella originally published in the Atlantic Monthly in 1888 and then again in book form later that year. The papers to which the title refers are those of Jeffrey Aspern, a famous and now dead American poet. They are now in the possession of Juliana Bordereau, an old lover of Aspern’s living in Venice. The narrator of the story goes there in the hope of tracking down the precious documents.

"Theatre Royal" was first broadcast in the UK in 1952 and chiefly featured Ralph Richardson and Laurence Olivier as narrators of classic fiction, adapted for radio.
