About this listen

As soon as Binya saw the beautiful blue silk umbrella, she wanted it. She wanted it so badly that she was willing to give her lucky leopard's claw pendant in exchange. No one in the village had such a fine umbrella, and everywhere Binya went the umbrella went, too. Gradually it faded to a pale blue and was patched in several places, but there were still many who envied Binya her treasured possession. And the most envious of them all was old Ram Bharosa, the shopkeeper who decided that by some means he must own the blue umbrella.

It brought back our school memories of Listening to our English teacher narrating the ruskin bond stories of textbook in much enagaging voice and modulations...the narrator simply enacted whole book through his voice modulation....Just loved it

A lovely story of a little girl who inspite of her love for her umbrella gives it to the greedy old man who had lost sympathy and respect of villagers. She managed to change him and gain respect of hisfellow beings.

Goodness wins over greed .

It is a really nice and sweet little story about greed and gratefulness.
The way the little girl realised that human relationships mean more than a pretty umbrella and Rambharosa finally could let go of his greed.
It was really beautiful.
