Silly, inconsistent story

The protagonist, Sugar, showed such promise I'm the first half of the book. Sensitive, intelligent, bold, kind. During the second half, she appears to have lost these traits and is just another helpless woman, used & abused by men; accepting her sad fate of being discarded like an old shoe. The revenge she takes does not make sense.

Faber's writing left much to be desired. It is mere bland narration of the events in Sugar's life.

All in all, I wish I had not bought this silly book
