Publisher's Summary

A comprehensive value-investing framework for the individual investor.

In a straightforward and accessible manner, The Dhandho Investor lays out the powerful framework of value investing. Written with the intelligent individual investor in mind, this comprehensive guide distills the Dhandho capital allocation framework of the business-savvy Patels from India and presents how they can be applied successfully to the stock market. The Dhandho method expands on the groundbreaking principles of value investing expounded by Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett, and Charlie Munger.

Listeners will be introduced to important value investing concepts such as "Heads, I win! Tails, I don't lose that much!", "Few Bets, Big Bets, Infrequent Bets", Abhimanyu's dilemma, and a detailed treatise on using the Kelly Formula to invest in undervalued stocks.

Using a light, entertaining style, Pabrai lays out the Dhandho framework in an easy-to-use format. Any investor who adopts the framework is bound to improve on results and soundly beat the markets and most professionals.

Good POV on investing

kellys formula and magical investing formula are takeaways. The POV of good bets, infrequent best, low risk bets and big bets is a good learning rather than diversification approach mandated by a lot.

A very good book to invest for beginners

Shortly, Pabrai have given a good book for beginners to know about investing and directions for it. The real life investment stories are easy and effective to understand the sense of investing. The investing terms like arbitrage, investment stories of his inspirations, book mentions, website mentions are all awesome. This is a great audio book I enjoyed and recommend

Definitely adds something to your knowledge

Not a 'must listen' as such, but you may go for it if you are on a quest to read all books related to investment/an investor. It should add something to your current knowledge of investing. If it doesn't, it still might end up opening new ways of thinking about investing. The narration was crisp and clear.

Sincerely, please listen to this book

Written in 2006, holds value still, just like value investing!

Examples are plenty and case studies are practical.

Genuine advice from author.

To the point!

Many similar books I’ve read will beat you over the head with endless examples. Not this one. Aside from repeating the Dhandho principal for recognition this book offers simple rules you can follow along with resources to help along the way.

This book is more for gamblers than investors.

This book intentionally or unintentionally encourages gambling. The author sees starting businesses, buying businesses, and stocks the same and equal to bets in a casino. Studied, understood, and calculated risk is not the same as pushing a button in a casino where no brain power is required and odds are against you. Is there risk in driving a car? Yes. Is it the same as Options? I don't think so. This will not be a book I will recommend my son to read.

Another great teacher of investing

I found this book to be both educational and inspirational. The teacher, Mr Pabrai, a down to Earth individual, shares his vast experience with great candour. A book that I will be buying one hard copy to add to my shelf for investing reference guide in the future.
