Publisher's Summary

Festival of Literary Diversity 2018

The Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD) celebrates diversity in literature by promoting diverse authors and stories in Brampton, Ontario – one of Canada’s most culturally diverse cities.

FOLD is the first and only literary festival in Canada to focus on diverse authors and stories to the Flower City. The Festival of Literary Diversity celebrates stories that are underrepresented in Canadian literature — stories that reflect variations in geography, ethnicity, race, culture, gender, ability, sexual orientation, and religion, and stories that employ different methods of story-telling. The hope is that hearing these stories can change the way Canadians see the world and each other, and I hope you do too.

This year, Audible Canada signed on to the festival as the lead corporate sponsor. The year-round sponsorship represents a three-year commitment from Audible Canada to elevate the voices of diverse authors across the country. Books by FOLD participants and alumni such as Eden Robinson, Kim Thúy, and Lawrence Hill are currently available on Audible Canada with Canadian actors of diverse backgrounds frequently employed as narrators.

The 2018 festival took place May 3-6 in historic downtown Brampton. Audible was onsite to record key panel discussions and to interview the authors present.

When you add this to your library, you will receive all panel discussion and exclusive author interviews.

We hope you enjoy!
