Publisher's Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The 10th-anniversary edition of the game-changing number one New York Times best seller, featuring a new foreword.

For more than a decade, Brené Brown has found a special place in our hearts as a gifted mapmaker and a fellow traveller. She is both a social scientist and a kitchen-table friend whom you can always count on to tell the truth, make you laugh and, on occasion, cry with you. And what's now become a movement all started with The Gifts of Imperfection, which has sold more than two million copies in 35 different languages across the globe.

What transforms this audiobook from written word to effective daily practices are the 10 guideposts to wholehearted living. The guideposts not only help us understand the practices that will allow us to change our lives and families, they also walk us through the unattainable and sabotaging expectations that get in the way.

Brené writes, 'This book is an invitation to join a wholehearted revolution. A small, quiet, grassroots movement that starts with each of us saying, "My story matters because I matter." Revolution might sound a little dramatic, but in this world, choosing authenticity and worthiness is an absolute act of resistance.'

Easy read, conversational and how real it got overall

Damn. This is the first ever book that I heard twice and back to back at that. It was like I didn’t get enough of it and I needed to hear it one more time to get the ideas and thoughts expressed in this book into my brain, body and soul. And now I am planning to buy a hard copy of the book because I need to have this beside me as a guide, help and pick-me-up. I know that whatever page I turn to, Brené Brown would have jotted a nugget of wisdom in a way that’s honest, kind and accessible. Everyone should read this. I wish soon there’s a version of this in other languages as well.

A note to Brené Brown - I am deeply thankful for this book. Thank you for putting this out into the world for us all. This line is etched into my mind and I am repeating it to myself whenever I find myself in an iffy space - My story matters because I matter. ❤️

Something for everyone!

The book touched various aspects of being imperfect but still being worthy enough. Its difficult to term this one as a self-help book but it does help in a unique way. Worth the time.

I was surprised to know how happiness and joy differs from each other. Idea about maintaining an integration guide is also useful.

Only thing which bothered me is the author mentioning about her research over hundred times.

Heartwarming & Inspiring

Love Brene Browns content and narration. The book compels you to look within yourself in a nonjudgmental way. Makes you conscious of your inner voice. Compels you to accept yourself and better yourself at the same time. Brene Brown truly is the friend and coach we all need to navigate the chaos of our lives and worlds while being true to ourself. I keep coming back to this book whenever I feel disconnected with myself

Great concept and story line. Complex writing and hard to follow at times

A nice book on whole hearted living. Though i found writing style to be complex and hard to follow at times, It is a nice read / listen. Probably we all know the things in bits and pieces but it is always good to see it all together that too backed up by professional research. I specially liked the concept of integration chart. This is one nice way to create a personal summary of book for future reference.
I am amazed to know that Brene did research on topic like Shame... Never knew there could be such topics also for research.
Story is amazing just that I found the definition etc bit long and complex specially for audio book.
