Stories included in this volume are: "The Nightingale and the Rose", "The Devoted Friend", "The Happy Prince", "The Remarkable Rocket", and "The Selfish Giant".

Public Domain (P)2010 Jimcin Recordings

Oscar Wilde's The Happy Prince and Other Tales is a collection of quirky fairytales for both children and adults. These plots are much more in the style of Grimm than Disney. A different audio artist performs each of the five stories. A warm woman's voice lovingly tells the sad story of the nightingale who must kill herself to get one red rose for a young boy who is in love. A lighthearted male voice integrates the voices of many animals, from water rat to linnet, in the story of "The Devoted Friend". Overall, listeners of all ages will certainly enjoy these funny and dark fables with their kooky animal characters and strong moralistic nature.

prefer the first performer.......

I don’t like the ‘Happy Prince ‘part, because there is a noise of the recording equipment so I cannot really enjoy the story.....sad
