Story
Though the Greek and Roman crew members of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen - all of them - and they're stronger than ever. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea's army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already.

Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek God. I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. That's when things started really going wrong. Narrators confusing
Our family listen to all the Rick Riordan books and love the story line. Jesse Bernstein made all the characters come alive and was easy to listen to.
Joshua Swanson did okey, but got some of the character names wrong and mixed some voices up.
Nick Chamian is extremely difficult to listen to. Uneasy voice and ends most of the sentences on a high tone. Regret buying the book.

As always, i love Ricks books, but i feel the narrator could have done a better job. The book itself is really good, it holds your attention the whole time. I still think they should get a bunch of people and have them all read for one character (percy, annabeth, piper.....)

This is a bad recording.
What would have made The House of Hades better?
The narration is very hard to listen to. The only reason we have kept it is that my dyslexic son loves the story and wants to listen but if it was me I would have returned it. It is painful to listen to.
What didn’t you like about Nick Chamian’s performance?
It seems like he is talking too close to the microphone.

Wonderful
Where does The House of Hades rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The story is a perfect continuation to Mark of Athena. This is enough for me to rate the book as good.
What did you like best about this story?
Everithing is perfect. The way Rick Riordan distributes the story, without forgetting the two groups of heroes
Have you listened to any of Nick Chamian’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I enjoyed as Always.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes. there is very funny moments.
Any additional comments?
Rick RIordan creats a wonderful series. Worth listening to the story and follow the adventures of these heroes

Great story, terrible narrator
Would you be willing to try another one of Nick Chamian’s performances?
No, god no.
I haven't liked any of the narrators of these books as they all have very nasal voices however this guy almost caused me to return the book. He places emphasis on seemingly random words in sentances it sounds like a 12 year old drama student trying to be dramatic. I'd read the book rather than buy this.

I love this story, but the change of narrator is awful. He sounds like he has his nose blocked or something, which is incredibly annoying. Why the change? The last one was good. If you easily get annoyed by voices like this narrator then do not purchase the audiobook.

the worst narrator I have heard, on audible.
story was pretty good, though not has good has the others in the series & definitely not has good has the percy Jackson series.
the reader was terrible. it sounded slow and mostly in one tone, in a way it reminded me of my Kindle touch reading aloud (just lest robotic), I speeded it up, but still didn't sound brilliant, slightly better if listening on a device with better sound quality, it's even worst if using cheap not very good headphones or speakers.
sometimes I had trouble really following the story, I don't know if that was due to the poor narrator, the story or if it was just that sometimes I was listening while doing something else, though it could of been a mixture of all three.

Not just for kids
Where does The House of Hades rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Pretty high up. Its well read and interesting. I must be hooked I have the whole set so far.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The House of Hades?
Frank fighting a huge bunch of monsters on a bridge in Venice. He's usually a very quiet character and he suddenly grew (literally as it turned out).
Which character – as performed by Nick Chamian – was your favourite?
Bob the giant. He is such a sweetie.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Through Hell and back?
Any additional comments?
I am not a kid. I have a classics degree. I just enjoy these books, they tackle the myths in an engaging way. Go Romans and Greeks!

Love story
I’ve always been a fan of the series and man I loved it! But the reader annoyed me. Kept voicing Hazel with an inconsistent accent. Loved the other readers so far but not Mr.Chamian
