In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Publisher's Summary
The Classic Text Annotated to Update Graham's Timeless Wisdom for Today's Market Conditions
The greatest investment advisor of the 20th century, Benjamin Graham taught and inspired people worldwide. Graham's philosophy of "value investing" - which shields investors from substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies - has made The Intelligent Investor the stock market Bible ever since its original publication in 1949.
Over the years, market developments have proven the wisdom of Graham's strategies. While preserving the integrity of Graham's original text, this revised edition includes updated commentary by noted financial journalist Jason Zweig, whose perspective incorporates the realities of today's market, draws parallels between Graham's examples and today's financial headlines, and gives listeners a more thorough understanding of how to apply Graham's principles.
Vital and indispensable, this HarperBusiness Essentials edition of The Intelligent Investor is the most important book you will ever listen on how to reach your financial goals.

This book does not belong on audio
Save yourself the time and just google "value investing Benjamin Graham". Most of the book is spent convincing you of the concept with a myriad of examples, all from the late 19th and early 20th century. Rather than update the book, you get it as it was written decades ago with ancient examples one struggles to relate to and then at the end of the chapter the footnotes bring it up to date. Ben is always referencing tables and charts, which kind of defeats the purpose, for me at least, of an audio book. I highly respect Graham and value investing, but if your already convinced it's a good strategy, then you really just need chapters 14 and 15.

This book is not suitable for audible format
What did you like best about The Intelligent Investor Rev Ed.? What did you like least?
The book is outstanding. Rich material and time tested wisdom from one of the thought leaders and legendary investors of all time.
How could the performance have been better?
The narrator has a monotone voice that makes it hard to follow the material.
Any additional comments?
As someone who has read the intelligent investor many times throughout the years, in my opinion this book is not meant to be listened to in an audible format. You will get much more out of the material by reading, digesting, pausing and sometime re-reading this unique piece of work.

Time tested principles of investing
This is consistent with my observations. Some stocks go up/down related to sentiment and lack of direct events.

It would be ideal if the audiobook also had the charts referenced throughout the book... currently requires user to purchase both formats.

Would be 5 stars if this gets updated
Much of this book focuses it's analysis on the 1960s through 1970 as well as the tech bubble and subsequent crash (roughly 1999-2002.)
While many of Graham's fundamental principals are still applicable today, such as the importance of establishing a margin of safety, much of it focuses on individual and conservative stock picking. These days, similar exposure can be achieved by buying an index fund, a point Ben Zweig mentions in his commentary.
Further, many of the examples of extreme losses, irrational investors, and obscenely overpriced issues in the commentary (1999-2002) focus on tech stocks. It would be interesting to see this book updated to include examples during a period more characteristic of typical market conditions.

Great Content - Narration Awful
This book is extremely insightful and a must read for anyone looking to invest. Sadly the narrator made listening as exciting as watching paint dry. If you can read a hard copy.

Very good book
Good book albeit a bit slow and long.
Explains all the essential ideas on how to act more intelligently as an investor. The ideas are mostly well known so this book is more for the beginner and less experienced.

Great audio book for Investing
I was about clueless when I started to learn about investing but the author helped explain why investing over the long term is better and why you should learn about the company and it's managers, I really recommend it :)

Deep, thorough, insightful, intelligent, dry
This reads like a bible on the subject. Providing very detailed analysis of a huge amount of information, this is surely one that any serious investor should read.
I will, however, share my criticisms... First of all, the book makes reference to the author several times which was very confusing. (How can a narrator reference the author?) It appears to jump back and forth in time when referencing 'now'. eg: at some points it refers constantly to the 1970's while in other parts it jumps to the 2000 .com bubble. In addition to these confusing traits, the book references large tables, which makes it very hard to follow for a book on tape listener. (And for the non-american, the author references US stocks and bonds in all of his examples, which makes it a little hard to relate to).
Having said all of this, the reasoning and the practices are sound and Benjamin Graham is obviously an authority on what he is writing about. With all of the difficulties I mentioned above, I learned so much on the subject and gained confidence to assess and make investment decisions. Graham provides practical strategy and example again and again. From descriptions of different stocks and bonds, to company analysis and comparisons, to general investment strategies such as dollar average costing and index fund investing, there is so much to learn here. I will come back to this to read again one day to pick up some of the stuff that slipped through the cracks on the first read. I would recommend this one for sure, but it is not an easy listen.

1.5x Speed and you're away and laughing...
A lot to get through and very informative, found turning speed up helped with energy of delivery immensely! (was like a completely different person)

Awesome and very detailed listening!
I tried to read this book many times, but listening to it using audible made the very dry content much easier to comprehend, for me anyway!

Ideal for paperback
Content is absolutely fantastic. Graham teaches you how to be a rational investor in any market which is irrational by nature. Best to read the hard copy as done if the illustration don't come across well in audio book.

Too heavy for an audio book
It is good information but it is too heavy for an audio book. The narrator is not too dull, but it might help if you increase speed to 1.2 or 1.3. I listened for a few chapters but found myself drowned by all the technical information. It does not help when the narrator keeps jumping from one date to another. In an audio book, you have to focus to follow the train of thoughts. This is not easy especially when you are driving or not taking notes,

Not optimised for listening
A great book meant for re-reading but not optimised for listening. It is very difficult to follow tables, graphs and figures by listening alone, so I would recommend against audio-booking technical volumes.

Index and chapter labels needed.
Seriously. Audible. Could you please give this voluminous and essential tome the due diligence it deserves and label the chapters correctly OR AT THE VERY LEAST provide an index in the PDF. Unacceptable that everything is labeled ‘Chapter 1’ etc with no further title. This is not the way they are presented in the exact same version of the text, Chapter 1 should in fact be labeled “1. Investment versus Speculation: Results to be Expected by the Intelligent Investor “. This is nearly an 18 hour text, beautifully read and yet rendered nearly useless by your pathetic lack of care taken to appropriately name these tracks or provide an index. FIX THIS PLEASE!

Good story but will prefer a physical book
Great content and commentary was good but it was hard to grasp all of it via audible.
