"Really enjoyable story. I really enjoyed listening to this story, containing a rich mix of voices and sounds that kept me gripping the steering wheel on my daily commute." - Mr A Barnes

"Forget Disney. This was absolutely spellbinding, both the stories and the acting, a pure delight to listen to." - Ron

"Simply incredible. Easily the best audiobook I've heard. The background sounds take you to the jungles of India whilst the incredible cast give added depth to the characters not seen before." - Amazon Customer

"Just beautiful. I absolutely loved this! Everything was just beautiful! The voices were perfect the pace was just right ... I've fallen in love with The Jungle Book all over again." - Clh77

"A brilliant performance of a much loved story. The listener is transported to the Indian jungle complete with an atmospheric background and a cast of excellent actors who do full justice to this wonderful story. I especially enjoyed Richard E Grant's performance as the hissing python, Kaa." - Lesley

"The best ever audio book. This is a full movie without visuals. The characters are voiced so well, the music and sound effects take you to another place entirely. Rudyard Kipling’s age old story is new and fresh, forget Disney! This is the authentic telling. A delight to hear time and again." - Mrs. Y. M. Mariess

"Incredible Performances. I thoroughly enjoyed this performance of The Jungle Book. The entire cast were exceptional and I especially loved Colin Salmon as Bagheera. Normally I'm quite picky about atmospheric sounds however I felt that in this case the background was brilliant. I felt like I could nearly see what was going on. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something not too long but very entertaining." - Pamela

"MAGICAL. I really recommend this audio book, beautifully cast, and perfect for children or adults. I would just remind people that this is Kipling's delicious and sometimes slightly dark version not Disney's! Beautiful, beautiful stuff. Download it immediately." - Irena Jean Wieczerzynska

"A Sunday Afternoon Treat. From beginning to end this production was top class. The finest of voice actors brought this book to life. The music and sound added greatly to my enjoyment of the tale. I would recommend this audio to my friends. It was good to have this story by the talented Rudyard Kipling brought to life and I will certainly attempt some more of his work." - alan

Great performances, ambience. Mispronounced words.

The performances are excellent(especially by young Mowgli). The ambience of the jungle is well created.

But, mispronounced words made me, well, smile. The Ch is Cheel, is pronounced ch as in cheese, not ch as in charade. Mowgli is a proper name, so calling him Mau-galli instead of Mow (as in mowing a lawn) + glee is an acceptable error.

Does not distract from the experience of an otherwise wonderful production.

Lovely story, good music and sounds

The age old story of Mowgli, Bagheera, Baloo, Hathi, Kaa and all the Jungle animals revisits the spirit and Innocence of any 90s kid. While the movies visit Mowgli's tussle with Sher Khan alone, the book Chronicles many more incidents as Mowgli grows older. Through stories, enchanting storytelling and sounds, it rekindles the very basic values we heard as kids.

This piece is filled with wonderful narration, lovely sound effects and music to give a very interesting experience. Although one thing that irked me was the Hindi pronunciation which broke the spell the narration had cast, being very western-y and noise like.

Not being picky, the audiobook was a pleasure.

Good story - terribly fast narration!

It was very fast compared to the books and overall an unpleasant experience. Stick with the original!

Excellent interpretation

This piece is a wonderful dramatisation if the jungle book. It’s vivid imagery is faithfully portrayed by a host of well known names to perfection. It was a book I didn’t want to put down, and would highly recommend.

Unbearable hissing noise

While it's a nice touch to add sound effects, it's prohibitive to enjoying the performance in places. Chapter two opens with a hissing background noise, possibly intended to be water. It's not in the background enough though and competes with the narration and performance. Very disappointing.

Wonderful.

Voices, sounds and song well mingled. I don't usually like multiple-cast readings, but this was just enchanting.
Really well done.

Beautifully presented!

This is an exquisite reading of the jungle book. Thankyou! I thoroughly enjoyed the dramatic show, and although it was rewritten for this it was well done and true to the original.
