No-one is perfect. But that doesn't stop us from imagining ourselves as smarter, funnier, richer or thinner and how much happier we would then be. Love for Imperfect Things, by the best-selling Korean monk Haemin Sunim, shows how the path to happiness and peace of mind includes not only strong relationships with others but also letting go of worries about ourselves. Packed with his typical spiritual wisdom, Sunim teaches us to embrace our flaws rather than trying to overcome them and demonstrates that love has very little to do with perfection.

The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Publisher's Summary
Penguin presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of The Little Book of Hygge, written and read by Meik Wiking.
Denmark is often said to be the happiest country in the world. That's down to one thing: hygge.
'Hygge has been translated as everything from the art of creating intimacy to cosiness of the soul to taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things. My personal favourite is cocoa by candlelight....'
You know hygge when you feel it. It is when you are cuddled up on a sofa with a loved one or sharing comfort food with your closest friends. It is those crisp blue mornings when the light through your window is just right.
Who better than Meik Wiking to be your guide to all things hygge? Meik is CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen and has spent years studying the magic of Danish life. In this beautiful, inspiring audiobook, he will help you be more hygge: from picking the right lighting and planning a dinner party through to creating an emergency hygge kit and even how to dress.
Meik Wiking is the CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen. He is committed to finding out what makes people happy and has concluded that hygge is the magic ingredient that makes Danes the happiest people in the world.

appreciate the writer will to introduce the world to Hygge. I might be expecting some back ground stories of origin. This concept is good but known go the world via different names. Would like to visit Denmark one day but not for finding Hygge but to buy some candles and sip coffee. the last part of the book is interesting where gratitude is connected with the happiness. I love that part of the author. Hope to hear more stories in future book. Will look forward to listening book of kids.

Get ready for a beautiful, ride to Copenhagen
The narrative is simple and easy to understand. the narrator's voice is soothing. The audio book takes you on a magical, imaginative journey of how Danes live, find happiness in (simple, cosy cuddly things) like coffee, cake, fireplace, sledging, Christmas but slowly dives deeper into how Hyggee is not just a philosophy but everyday living.

A great introduction to the Hygge lifestyle
After hearing so much about this book, I have always wanted to read it, but I also know that books like these (lifestyle) will take me forever to finish it. So an audio book is a great alternative to get the information you want and finishing it in an efficient manner.
Meilk Wiking's narration is clear with a very soothing voice. There are not that many chapters so you can go through it quite quickly. I have already listened to this book twice and will listen to it again soon.

If you could sum up The Little Book of Hygge in three words, what would they be?
This book is wonderful. I smiled through so many sections and even laughed. Wiking has done a superb job. I wasn't completely convinced by the trial but so glad I read the reviews and listened to the whole thing - spectacular. He is honest, funny and gets down to the truth of what hygge is, why it's important for all of us and has made me want to adopt it not just into my vocabulary, but into my way of life. He has managed to make a book about hygge, hyggely :D.

Very Hyggely
love listening to the accent. Adds to the "hygge" of the the book. Third time listening to it and will listen to it again 👍

I felt a sense of Hygge when listening to his accent and enjoyed learning of Danish cosy culture.
A pleasant read for those that want a mental break from life and all its stresses, while learning about the beautiful concept of Hygge.

Hyygely
I liked the narrators voice, and loved the insight to Danish culture. not captivating, but entirely pleasant and positive.
