Critic Reviews

“The journey to sainthood for these colorful characters ranges from unjustly tragic...to humorously improbable...with enchanting, full-color illustrations that evoke medieval books of hours.” (Kirkus)

Great supplemental world building

This book discusses the saints within the Grishaverse verse. It is not critical to any of the three series but is excellent supplemental world building.

This would be best read right before Rule of Wolves (RoW) as RoW briefly mentions many of the saints discussed in this book.

Ben Barnes can read me the phone book.

Honestly, I wasn't planning on getting this book until I saw that Ben Barnes was a co-narrator. I'm glad I did. The stories are pretty short but they're very interesting. Some of the Saints are mentioned through the Shadow and Bone series so it was nice to get a little back story on them. I definitely recommend this for anyone who has enjoyed the S&B series.

Loved it!

This was so good! Ben Barnes and Lauren Fortgang did a fantastic job narrating The Lives of the Saints. The images in the book were beautiful, and each complemented the stories well.

Loved This!

This is hauntingly captivating. These stories are screepy and a tad frightening and their dark lives and ends will pull upon your heartstrings. Leigh Bardugo is a masterful storytelling genius.

As superstitious beliefs and villainish folk rush to persecute the saints you'll find that you simply can't set this beautiful book aside. These are dark but so beautifully written. I loved adding more to the Grishaverse universe and gaining a better understanding of some of my favorite character's beliefs. This is filled with heroes and monster.

This is a must-read for any Grishaverse fan! The inside artwork is spectacular! This is a quick read that you won't be forgetting. I imagine that it'll be invaluable as you navigate the Grishaverse and all of it's gloriousness.

The narrators are the greatest

The stories are amazing, but the narration is the greatest thing in this audiobook. It’s been really pleasant to listen to these stories.

Listen to this before shadow and bone

I wish I'd had the backstory of the saints before reading the entire shadow and bone series.

Enriching. Enlightening. Extraordinary.

What a sensational addition to this wonderful world! Once again, Leigh Bardugo picks to best voices to add that X factor to her world and stories.

⚖️ Plot: Being multiple stories of these familiar saints, each story is short and sweet. But that is the genius of Bardugo. Each installment is expanded to its fullest and describes the story of each life in abundance.

🗺 World: Every piece is spread out through the world we know and love. No setting nor background is alike making this a truly enriching part of the series we know and love.
