Publisher's Summary

The Lost Symbol, the stunning follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, is a masterstroke of storytelling - a deadly race through a real-world labyrinth of codes and unseen truths...all under the watchful eye of a terrifying villain. Set within the unseen tunnels and temples of Washington, D.C., The Lost Symbol accelerates through a startling landscape toward an unthinkable finale.

Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol. Within minutes of his arrival, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object - artfully encoded with five ancient symbols - is discovered in the Capitol Building. The object is an ancient invitation, meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of hidden esoteric wisdom. And when Langdon's mentor Peter Solomon - prominent Mason and philanthropist - is kidnapped, Langdon's only hope of saving Peter is to accept this invitation and follow wherever it leads him. Langdon finds himself plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden history, and never-before-seen locations...all of which seem to be dragging him toward a single, inconceivable truth.

The Lost Symbol is exactly what Dan Brown's fans have been waiting for...his most thrilling novel yet.

Critic Reviews

"Impossible to put down....Mr. Brown was writing sensational visual scenarios long before his books became movie material. This time he again enlivens his story with amazing imagery....Thanks to him, picture postcards of the capital's most famous monuments will never be the same....In the end it is Mr. Brown's sweet optimism, even more than Langdon's sleuthing and explicating, that may amaze his readers most." ( The New York Times)
"Thrilling, entertaining....Robert Langdon goes for another roller-coaster ride - this time in a hunt for a Masonic treasure in Washington, D.C." ( Los Angeles Times)

Pretty thrilling an experience!

The narration was absolutely flawless, but the story itself was not as grappling as the previous installments in the serious.

Great Book

Definitely worth reading , it is not as good as angels and demons or da vinci code but it sure does have a great story and mystery. Ending is not as grand but I liked it.

Good but too repetitive and long

Overall good. Performance is great. But this book is unnecessarily too long and repeatitive. Could have been at least 40 percent lesser in length.

Da Vinci Code >> Lost Symbol

Good narration
Average story. You just keep waiting for the jump that a Dan Brown novel gives you. It became a big boring towards the end.

One time

The usual DB' way of keeping your inquisitive can be expected here too; however towards the end I felt it got a bit dragging. The narration is amazing, you could feel each character distinctively.

Beyond amazing! and I expected no less

I've always appreciated Dan Brown as an author for his educational story books with an amazing story line ofcourse but also tons and tons of knowledge! This and his famous book- The Da Vinci Code is a very very clever blend of history, religion, literature and science. This book in perticular explains everything I, as a person have been wondering for so long..... about God, religious scriptures, life in general and soul. All of these semi controversial topics have been explained and justified in the best manner and I doubt anything could ever top it with such an amazing story to follow. This book is a proof that History -our past and Science are very much related! Our past is a big knowledge bank and we should use it most definitely! What we call as superstitions, to the most part have storage but real logical roots. And they make sense!! ABSOLUTE SENSE! Am not talking about bad luck, good luck superstitions...... but the rituals which priests and saints follow. My respect for religion, history, our glorious past and science has increased immensely, all thanks to this book. My ratting clearly recommends this book!!!!! I'm gonna definitely have to read it again just to comprehend everything. a small *spoiler* - the story has a VERY BIG turning point towards to end regarding the evil character here (Malak) Yeah so this book and the previous book to this sequel have opened my mind so much regarding life in such a positive manner. I'm sooooooo lucky to have read these books. AUDIBLE'S narration (by Paul Michael) was fabulous. Nothing to complain about...... SUPER SATISFIED!!!!!!! 💙

very engaging..

The story is as engaging as the Da vinci code. The performance and storyline both are really good as a thriller novel.
