It kills....
On a hot summer night in Montauk, the bodies of two local bar patrons are discovered in the dunes, torn to shreds, their identities unrecognizable....
It breeds....
In another part of town, a woman's backyard is invaded by four terrifying creatures that defy any kind of description. What's clear is that they're hostile - and they're ravenous....
It spreads....
With every sunset, the terror rises again, infecting residents with a virus no one can cure. The CDC can't help them; FEMA can't save them. But each savage attack brings Suffolk County Police Officer Gray Dalton one step closer to the shocking source of these unholy creations. Hidden on nearby Plum Island, a US research facility has been running top-secret experiments. What they created was never meant to see the light of day. Now, a vacation paradise is going straight to hell.

©2014 Hunter Shea (P)2015 Graphic Audio, LLCI didn’t want to make a decision in that state about my admiration for this book. So I waited for a few months and then started the audiobook on audible.
Oh god such awful work they have done producing it. The producers certainly had no idea what sound mixing is all about. There are so many instances where a dialogue is being said and the ambience or sfx is so loud in the mix that you have no idea what is being spoken. And this issue went on throughout the entire book. If I was Hunter Shea, I’d ask for a refund and maybe even say a few fancy words to those responsible.
Special mention to horribly dry and emotionless dialogues. Like i mentioned, very monotonus.
That horrible experience aside, my first impression about the book still stayed. Great idea but very weakly written, very monotonous writing style. And for your own sanity, do not go for audiobook version.
Good idea, horrible execution.
