Publisher's Summary

Roger Ackroyd knew too much. He knew that the woman he loved had poisoned her brutal first husband. He suspected also that someone had been blackmailing her. Now, tragically, came the news that she had taken her own life with a drug overdose.

But the evening post brought Roger one last fatal scrap of information. Unfortunately, before he could finish the letter, he was stabbed to death.

Excellent Narration

Well.
One shall hardly learn anything from the story.
It's just an okay escape.
I studied this as it is a part of my literature curriculum.

the experience is excellent.

Hercule Poirot knows everything. Christie wins all minds and hearts and all my grey cells w this beautiful peice. and the narrator, did such a brilliant job at miming the ways of the German detective, and the curious ways of Caroline, and the squeaky tone of Mrs ackroyd, and all else. lovely experience!

Drama at the end ruins the skilful set-up.

As far as Agatha Christie is concerned, It was my opinion that(formed based on the films based on her book) her stories are somewhat too dramatic at the end. And this too much drama element ruined the skilful setup that often we see at the beginning of her writings. Listening to her work changed this opinion a bit. She is less dramatic, yes. Nonetheless, dramatic to the core.

Excellent as always

Christie never fails to awe. Even though I've read this book twice, I still never get the way Poirot thinks through and reaches Shepherd.

An enjoyable listen

This was a thorough delight as is usual with a hercule poirot story. Never heard a story from this type of unique perspective though!
