Some good bits

Like the stuff in strategy. The indictment of English football, while harsh is probably deserved. A good book. Narrator is fine.

Honest and Insightful

I was not sure what I was getting, but thos is very honest and insightful as a coach to hear from a player. I look forward the future books.

Much more informative & interesting than his last

Good insights here; less flashing the cash stories and really good nuggets on diet, training and tactics. I will certainly look out for things afresh when watching games and he sticks it to FIFA as well. An enjoyable open goal that.

Better than the second one

If you have an interest in football all 3 books have something in them that will give you an insight into this footballer. Hard to know if all are as contradictory, arrogant and as self indulgent at this one. Either way gives a look behind this fellas curtain at least. Thankfully the third book is a little less self indulgent than the others and more about the game but this doesn't stop him giving us his rather annoying opinion which at times you get the feeling are other cleverer people's which he is passing them off as his own. Anyway it's of interest of annoying.

Arrogance personified

Interesting use of the phrase " calling a spade a spade" after referring to a black player. I personally find this very offensive.

Good for amateur coaches...

As an amateur football coach some of the tactical stuff was really interesting. Obviously it doesn't go into depth on tactics rather just touches on many tactical ideas however if your someone interested in coaching football this book is well worth skimming through.

Only 3* though as I'm not sure about the guy, some of his views and opinions are strange especially around race. Bit uncomfortable at times.

Overview of the British game

Interesting perspective on the English football, and points up some of the culturally built i issues of the game here.

best football book ever!

loved this book. From the very first word to the final word, his insight into every aspect of football is fantastic.

The only problem is I finished it within 2 days because I couldn't put it down!

I've ordered the paper version for my son, my dad and a friend....

The Grief

Only reason its not 15/15 is the grief I go through with all SF books trying to calculate the SF identity.
Lose count of rewinds.
