Having accumulated wisdom and empathy from years of listening to the dark confessions of his parishioners, in a flash Father Brown is able to solve mysteries that confound all others. Here is an eccentric and loveable character that will appeal to fans of the legendary sleuth Sherlock Holmes. The stories are engagingly read by David Timson: "The Wrong Shape", "The Sins of Prince Saradine", "The Hammer of God", "The Eye of Apollo", "The Sign of the Broken Sword", and "The Three Tools of Death".

Modest and somewhat eccentric Father Brown has a keen awareness of the frailties of human nature thanks to his years of listening to confessions and advising his parishioners. When a servant is accused of murdering his employer, Father Brown must use his abilities to find out the truth behind the crime. Narrator David Timson lets the story's pace develop organically, and this detective story is more like a psychological exploration of the characters, whom he voices with great precision. Listeners will find his depiction of the compassionate Father Brown particularly loveable and charming.
