About this listen

Nestled deep in the mist-shrouded mountains, The Village of Eight Graves takes its name from a bloody legend. In the 16th century eight samurais, who had taken refuge there along with a secret treasure, were murdered by the inhabitants, bringing a terrible curse down upon their village.

Centuries later a mysterious young man named Tatsuya arrives in town, bringing a spate of deadly poisonings in his wake. The inimitably scruffy and brilliant Kosuke Kindaichi investigates.

Not only is the plot great, the narration takes the whole experience up a notch.
Parts with a distressed Tatsuya and Haruyo and especially the old aunts are SO SO wonderfully done that it's awe inspiring
Thoroughly enjoyed this one and am looking forward to listening to more audiobooks with this narrator

This is my first Seishi Yokomizo noble .and my goodness what find . Strange mystery, great narration and what a final plot twist . Once I started reading I can’t stop until it’s over . Most satisfying mystery noble I’ve read in long time

Unputdownable

The narration is good but this story lacks the mystery that Yokomizo is capable of weaving. The detective is hardly playing a part in this case.
I had high hopes but was disappointed.

Not as good as others in this series
