Publisher's Summary

The world's worst fears have dawned. Nothing stands in the way of total destruction... except the love of one woman.

Deep in the Amazon jungle, a young American woman and the son of plantation owners fall madly in love. For Tanya and Shannon, life is a paradise most only dream about. But today paradise ends. The jungle has hatched more than idyllic love. It has also spawned insidious evil. An evil shrouded in a plot so diabolically brilliant that all of America will be brought to her knees at the hands of a few terrorists. The plan is executed to perfection. There is no way out... save an ancient woman whose dark past has lead her to a life of prayer in preparation for the unspeakable terror about to be unleashed.

Third times a charm!

Where does Thunder of Heaven rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Thunder of Heaven ranks among the top. The story, while minimally continuing the trilogy, is another good story read very well.

Any additional comments?

Ted Dekker sometimes gets a bit out there in his story lines. Thunder of Heaven and the other books in the triligy are based on characters that anyone can relate to and makes us think about Heaven and the way we live on Earth. As performed, you can easily be taken away and inserted right into the story like a passive observer. It was really difficult to turn off.

Amazing, nail biter, intense, a perfect example .

Wow this was a difficult story to get started. It was so intense! What a gut wrenching tale of sacrifice, betrayal and redemption! The opening scene is horrific and un-imaginable but it redeems the rest of the story in a way that you must experience for your self. Don't stop short and miss your blessing! Read this entire series and witness Love the way God intended us to experience it. Let this amazing story propel you into real love before you face your own challenges and tragedy. Everyone faces their own challenges in this life. Carry Gods love into your trials and come out with the laughter from heaven. I dare you.

Too drawn out

This is one audiobook that could be paced better in an ABRIDGED version. Otherwise, the 11+ hours had many repetitive phrases (e.g., ulcerated lip lesion caused by a bug bite, main character's strong leg muscles, etc) that did not enhance the story. Increasing the reading speed barely eased my impatience. The ending was disappointingly banal.

The Best Ted Dekker book and well read!

This is the most rivetting Ted Dekker book. The story seems more modern and applicable than most, though it nicely builds on the "historically placed" story lines of the first two in the series. The reader is excellent and gives believable voices and intonation to the characters.

A bit frustrating but very good

All Teds book can be a bit frustrating with the violence and when things don’t go right but it was a good book. The series was excellent.
