Story
The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

Story
In fifth grade my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed. It didn't take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever. For the next seven years, it was us. She's the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

We're a match made in hell, Stefan and I. He took me to exact his revenge. I went from being a pawn to my father to being a pawn to Stefan. The only difference is I have a ring the size of a boulder on my finger and a husband I don't want. And the hardest part is I thought he was different. I thought I was falling in love. I guess my father was right. I'm not a very smart girl. Stefan is a powerful man. He doesn't play nice, not if you're his enemy. But I've learned one thing about my husband.

Story
Stefan Sabbioni showed up uninvited in my bedroom on my 16th birthday. He stood in the shadows, smelling of whiskey and death and wrapped a broken, blood-crusted necklace around my neck. I thought he’d strangle me with it. That night, he left a message for my father. He said he’d be back to take something precious. I never delivered that message, though. I wonder if things would be different if I had because now, two years later, he’s back. And he’s not hiding in any shadows.

Terminated for inappropriate behavior. I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands. Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba. All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends - a private video made on my private time. Or so I thought.... I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company. I didn’t think he’d actually respond.

It was easy to call us forbidden and harder to call us soul mates. Yet I believed we were both. Forbidden soul mates. When I arrived in Edgewood, Wisconsin, I didn't plan to find him. I didn't plan to stumble into Joe's bar and have Daniel's music stir up my emotions. I had no clue that his voice would make my hurts forget their own sorrow. I had no idea that my happiness would remember its own bliss.

Willow Taylor lives in a castle with large walls and iron fences. But this is no ordinary castle. It’s called Heartstone Psychiatric Hospital and it houses 40 other patients. It has nurses with mean faces and techs with permanent frowns. It has a man, as well. A man who is cold and distant. Whose voice drips with authority. And whose piercing gray eyes hide secrets, and maybe linger on her face a second too long. Willow isn’t supposed to look deep into those eyes. She isn’t supposed to try to read his tightly-leashed emotions.

Tick, tick, tock.
Time. That's all I have now. A small room, a photograph, and time. They want me to trust them and confess my sins. They told me they wouldn't judge me - they lied.
I thought we could convince the world that this wasn't a crime. We were wrong.
Time doesn't stand still. The clock keeps ticking, the world is unconvinced, and now… Now he is gone.

Enlightening point of view
Where does Veiled Innocence rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book has been a very big eye opener. I truly believe in love and I know it comes in all forms. As many people and myself have said timing is EVERYTHING in this case is really is.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Veiled Innocence?
Realizing how many people really listen to Addison.
What does Chelsea Hatfield and J.F. Harding bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrators were great in this book, they both nailed it.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, if I could have listened to it all in one day I definitely would have. Ella made you feel like you just wanted more, and there really isn't a right spot to stop unless your family needs you! And only then. I can see where there could be another book launched from this book but we will just have to wait and see.

Student - teacher angst
Spoiled high school senior student always gets what she wants, and she wants her hunky teacher. It was drama-filled, and sexual. It narrates in dual POV from past events to present, explaining how they end up. I didn't think I would like it but I did. I was pleasantly surprised by the fictional ending. If you can not handle reading about teacher-student forbidden relationships, this will not be for you. I took a chance on my credit, and I'm okay with it.

Unexpected!
Very enjoyable story that gets better the further in you read. The blurb has to be one of the most vague I've ever read. No where does it give you any indication that this is an age gap teacher-student story. It sounds more like a time travel story, but anyway...
I loved the story and thought it had some really unique elements to it. Would definitely recommend!

Unexpectedly good
Would you consider the audio edition of Veiled Innocence to be better than the print version?
N/A
What did you like best about this story?
the second half is consuming.
What does Chelsea Hatfield and J.F. Harding bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Free hands
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
She's sitting on the ground leaning on his trucks tire.... Near the end.
Any additional comments?
The beginning was traditional and boring. Half way through the author found her muse or voice or whatever it is that made it well written.

What an awesome student-teacher story!
What an awesome story!
This book was great. A classic teacher-student story. But it was written so.... IDK.... differently. First you start in the present and the (h) is in a hospital of some sort for going crazy... but then it drift back to the past. The story of the student and the teacher repeats this back and forth present and past type of telling throughout the story until the end.
I quite enjoyed it.. It brought a level of suspense to the story, b/c what I totally thought happen to the (H) by the end, was not so.... So I was pleasantly surprised by the end.
Great narration. Very much like the male voices.
Good Credit, Buy or Sale.... So worth it.

Veiled Innocence
What a perfect name for what I just listened to!?!?
I don’t know if I liked it… If I hated it… If I loved it…
It has me thinking all kinds of stuff, like what the HECK man!!
I am not a fan of past and present it always messes me up but I will be da – m - ned it I wasn’t intrigued by the present and need to know what happened in the past to get there.
I swear this book has me all kinds of knots I don’t know which way is up or down. Did I like them together? Did I think she was very force full? Did I think he could have resisted?? I don’t know!! I swear I wish I could say yes or no to any of those but I really just don’t know.
And that ending I can’t even tell if I liked it because I am on the fence about it all...
Soooo I am 5 staring this book because of everything I mentioned up there…
And the narration… Well, stick a fork in me cause I am DONE. It was exactly what this book needed.

WOW - It's that amazing!!
I am not the one who would like to listen to a student and teacher relationship as it always ends up bad. And I thought it would be them typical story, but this story is without a doubt AMAZING!!
At first in the beginning of the story, I was totally against them being together as they way they acted - So Wrong! But as the story progresses it got better and I just couldn't stop listening.
I wanted them to be together as she is already 18 but as the law say "NO STUDENT-TEACHER RELATIONSHIP". I felt bad for them. That is all I will spill as I already spoil too much.
And the sickening fact that its literally thrilling "forbidden love". Perhaps, the thrill of risking getting caught by the public about their secret. MY GAD!!
Just give this book a try its really amazing. It's worth the credit/purchase.
The performance by Chelsea Hatfield & J.F. Harding was AMAZING!!
I say so many amazing because it really is amazing!!
