Publisher's Summary
From the bestselling author of the Annabelle Schwartzman series comes a chilling story of a woman with a forgotten past and a town with dark secrets.
After surviving a car accident on an icy road in Hagen, North Dakota, Lily Baker regains consciousness with no idea where or who she is. Scattered Bible verses and the image of a man lying in a pool of blood haunt her memory.
The same night of the accident, a young woman is murdered and tossed in a dumpster. Kylie Milliard, Hagen's only detective, doesn't immediately recognize the victim, but Kylie soon discovers that Lily and the dead woman share a dark past...if only Lily could remember what it was.
Lily and Kylie both want answers. But Kylie has to play by the book. Lily has to play it safe. And the more Lily learns about her identity, the more she fears the truth.
Critic Reviews
White Out is a superb thriller - intense, intricate, and so intriguing. Detective Kylie Milliard is a badass, and Girard is a one heck of a storyteller. The start of a fabulous new series." (J.T. Ellison, New York Times best-selling author of Good Girls Lie)
"Girard excels at creating kick-ass heroines in high-stakes, high-tension thrillers. Lily Baker and Detective Kylie Millard ensure White Out is the start to another white-knuckle series." (Robert Dugoni, number one Amazon and international best-selling author of the Tracy Crosswhite series)

a mystery narrator that can't pronounce Petechiae
Narrator should be embarrassed - frankly I seldom listen to an audiobook that is error-free (the LEAST we, your audience, should accept / expect)!petechiae is pronounced PuhteakEI (sound out what I have typed EXCEPT the, last two letters, which are "long" - I guess I can't assume narrator will know what that means, so for the last 2 letters just pronounce each letter, "e" "I". if this makes no sense to you, then use the web and listen to the word pronounced (why don't narrators do this by DEFAULT when he or she doesn't know how to pronounce a word)? IThis is a word mystery fans have encountered often. I am so frustrated with authors and with Audible for settling for narration which contains errors. Contact ME, I can READ! I WOULD LOVE TO DO NARRATION, and I am a professional writer with decades of experience!!

This book needed an editor
The audiobook needed a more adept reader, also.
The story itself was terribly flawed, as if the author had 3 plot lines, each struggling to become the story and everybody lost. There is potential here but it needs a great deal more honing. I listened all the way through in the crazy hope that some things might be made clear but ended frustrated and impatient, This writer has promise, but she needs a great, and patient, editor. And as for the reader...if you take on the job if reading a book and get paid to do it, LOOK UP the unfamiliar words, please!

not very tight
the story could have used better editing. because of this the climax was confusing . also, there where characters that when nowhere. I've liked other books of hers that I've read and will try others. the narrator was so so.

Full of twists and turns
I enjoyed this story. It is well written and well narrated, although the "voices" was sometimes irritating, but mostly just kind of weird

Outstanding!
This is a great book made even better by the wonderful performance of Whitney Dykhouse as the voices for Danielle Girard's characters.

Good storyline. But unforgivable performance
As a medical professional, listening to the narrative mispronounce numerous words was very irritating, annoying and distracting. The story is good. But it's unforgivable to mispronounce medical terminology. Look it up if you don't know.
